Who: Lucifer and John Constantine.
Where: The Songbird
What: Curiosity calls for some investigation.
When: Monday the 1st of March. Night time.
Rating: TBD. Probably swearing at the very least.
Open: No.
Status: Ongoing.

John had felt drawn to the club that evening. At first he didn't know why but he knew he needed to walk through those doors. It was funny how he always found himself exactly where he needed to be, even if it didn't seem obvious right away. Even if he found himself at the wrong end of a beating or in a tough situation, it was always for a reason. It always lead him to some sort of mystery, some sort of puzzle or problem that needed solving. Some magical, horrid thing that needed to be put to rest. Synchronicity waveriding was a risking thing but he always went with the flow. Eventually.

This time around? John really should have known better. He knew from the moment his hand touched the door. A familiar feeling ran up his spine, up to shock the base of his skull. He shook it off and flicked away the last of his cigarette into the street behind him before walking into the club. With all of his confidence, he strolled in, head held high. He wore the collar up on his long tan coloured trenchcoat which seemed to add to his look giving him an air of arrogance. Not that he needed the coat for that. All he needed to was smile. Cock his head to the side. Well, really all he needed to do was exist. He had a smugness about him that most found insufferable. Understandably.

John walked over to the bar and ordered himself a Gin and Tonic. His head turned to the sound of piano and that was when he knew. Once he had his drink, he smiled and nodded to the bartender before heading in the direction of the music. He smiled to himself when he saw that familiar face.
"Luci. Fancy meeting you here?" he smirked.

“Blah blah, Oliver Queen. Who cares? The blonde that was with you was a bit skinny, but I could work with that? Bit of a sass. Ringing any bells or has Purgatory taken your memory?”

Lucifer wasn’t in the business of owing anyone anything. Made him look bad as the King of Deals. He turned his attention to the bar and like magic, someone came over to refill his glass. “No favors, Connie,” his smile went devilishly wide, “but I could be moved if your case strikes my fancy.”

He stared down into his newly refilled glass, overcome by an intense unwelcome desire to plant his ass back on his throne. He was virtually as useless as Michael here. Short of coming up with ways to rile his not-brother brother up, Lucifer was stuck at this piano. Unusually unkempt, hair mussed, sans tie and missing his top buttons. He only remembered the slight annoyance standing there with a smug smile stretched across his lips.

“How does Purgatory find you, John?” John. Not Connie, Constantyne, or Johnny. “Venus and Mars converging, how lucky for you. Aphrodite, is it?” There. Change of subject. No more favors. No more deals. “What do you think about me as King of Purgatory? Mayor seems so dull.”

So this Lucifer was from his future... An annoying revelation. He wasn't sure which blonde he was talking about but he certainly knew Oliver Queen. And from he had picked up from both Lucifers was that Oliver did not have a particularly bright future ahead of him. Not overly surprising given what sort of things he got up to, the sorts of people Oliver ended up fighting with. John had tried to help and protect him before. No doubt he would again.

John tried to hold bac the look of disappointment from his face, choosing to focus on the person who came over to refill Lucifers glass. While he wasn't looking at his company, he was at least listening. Lucifer was fairly hard to ignore. His words, enticing. His tones enough to either irritate or intrigue and often both.

Before the bartender could leave, John drained the last of his drink and held out the glass for a refill. He smiled and winked at the mousy haired woman and turned his gaze back to Lucifer.
"Oh, you know me, mate. I'm just fine. I always find a way to get comfy if I have to" he said confidently. "What? Do you fancy bossing Michael around? I mean, if the crooked crown fits, you could always claim your throne" he smirked. "I don't give a toss either way" he shrugged.

Lucifer didn’t care for fibbers.

Constantine had a way of twisting half truths, but Lucifer never failed to notice a look of disappointment. He observed his interaction with the girl, the added wink even leaving the Devil to scramble for thought. He missed a certain mousy haired girl. The Detective. He played songs for her on this piano, knowing they wouldn’t reach where she was.

Part of him wanted desperately to cling to the idea that he’d see her again in some grandiose entry back into the world. He was here now, banging on keys that were slightly off no matter how many times you tuned them.

This place was only mildly irritating. He spoke to John as if he’d been thinking on the subject the entire time. King of Purgatory. Lucifer rolled his shoulders, his wings unfurling behind him. There was no use in hiding them here, people walked up to him like it wasn’t a big deal that you were face to face with the most hated being in the universe. “Oh, I bet you do, Johnny,” Lucifer said through a smile, “This Michael doesn’t wear my face. Sort of not my problem, but always my problem. Such a stick in the mud, that one. Almost makes you want to find out how to test his limits.”

Of course Lucifer was always a firm believer in, “maybe he needs a good fuck,” not that he was suggesting the responsibility fell on him. Definitely not. At all. Ever. “Definitely needs a helping hand.”

John smiled and nodded at the bartender as she walked away, pleased with his newly refilled glass. There was no chance he was going to end up paying for any of his drinks, so long as he could help it at least.

"I might know a few ways on how to test those limits" John replied smoothly. And he did. He had experience with Michael. He had known him for some time. A couple of years? Something like that. Time worked strangely when shifting between different universes. John and Michael had something of a rivalry. A feud which didn't vanish the moment they both arrived in purgatory.

"After all, me and this particular Mikey boy have known each other for some time now" he added, fairly confident in his knowledge. Confident that he had something that Lucifer might want. Well, John was fairly certain he had a few things that the fallen angel would want, but he wasn't going to rush into offering anything if he could avoid it.

Lucifer began tapping at an irritatingly high note on the piano.

The Devil got to his feet, his head tipped to one side. John knew something about Michael, but that didn't bother him. It was Constantine trying to hold something over his head. From pinnacle to the pit, his crown may have been a little crooked, but he still commanded a certain level of respect. Lucifer took up his glass, putting his faith into a shot of illusion. He rolled his shoulders, his feathers ruffling behind him.

"Have you, Johnny?" He towered over him, his eyes hyperfocused on the scoundrel. "Arrogance is unbecoming, did you know that? Michael doesn't concern me here. I've no reason to toss the brown noser off his throne. I hope it gives him some small taste of what Daddy Dearest put me through."

His gaze swept over Constantine, his lips curving into a pleased smile. "You want another drink, Connie? Let's get another. See where the night takes us."

Arrogance unbecoming? John thought it was a little funny hearing those words from Lucifer's lips. It didn't break the smile on his face either. It remained stubbornly, amused by what was going on. How could he not be? Oh, of course he was a bit annoyed about the favour being repaid already but he was sure they'd be in one anothers debts eventually. Especially with them both being stuck in Gehenna. John would need his help with something and a part of him hoped that the same would be said about the Fallen one.

John watched him, that little smile lingering on his lips. Without breaking eye contact, John knocked back his newly refilled drink. He lips curled downward briefly, more in response to the alcohol than anything else, before that little smile returned.

"Oh you know me, always up for another drink" he said, gesturing with his empty glass. "By all means, lead the way" he added, gesturing ahead of them.
