Summary: Cass needs to talk to Harry about Oliver and how many names he knew – and possibly exposed.
Yesterday had been one of the worst days for a very long time. Even knowing that nothing had happened to Alicia at her home, the mere fact that he'd failed her, that he'd not helped her with the wards as he'd promised made him feel dreadful. It didn't help seeing Percy upset either. He knew he was even worse off than him, and that besides being there there wasn't much he could do.
He'd never liked feeling helpless or not doing something, but he tried his best to support him.
Still though, no matter how he felt about it, he had a job to do, one that Dawlish would no doubt review in the hardest possible terms as the man was almost as uptight as Smith – at least when it came to his job. Which meant he couldn't allow himself to show grief, not for even a second when they worked. Not that he minded. Working kept his mind off things – even if there were things he couldn't forget. Like talking to Harry and Ginny about what Oliver had known, and what that could possibly mean.
Not seeing Ginny in the office, he sent her a note asking her to meet him after work, before he walked over to Harry's desk, putting a hand on the man's shoulder with his left hand, his right drawing his wand and placing silencing spells around them.
'How are you holding up?' he asked, the signs of a hangover as clear on Harry's face as clouds on a clear sky. Not that he blamed him, there hadn't been a shortage of alcohol in his flat yesterday either.
