summary:  Millie comes to enjoy a couple of those pink fizzy drinks

Millie had only stopped off at home long enough to pull on emerald robes before she apparated out of her garden to Diagon Alley to meet up for drinks with Jemma. She was hoping she could convince her to let the chef whip her up something light to eat. Entering the Alexander, Millie handed the cloak girl her cloak before venturing further in to find Jemma. She made some discreet inquiries before being led to a private table where Jemma was waiting.

"Jemma! I hope I haven't kept you waiting."

Jemma had informed the hostess that she was expecting a guest to meet her for dinner and asked for a private table to be set up. She wasn't positive when it was that Millie would be meeting her so she had her paperwork with her while she waited. When the woman approached her table she closed the file and smiled, standing to greet Millie.

"Oh not at all, darling, I would have been here either way!" She leaned in and placed a chaste polite kiss to Millie's cheek in greeting.

"Now, would you like to eat here or at my place?" she asked. She wasn't positive that Millie would really want to 'dish' down in the club.

“The joys of running a club right?” Millie grinned as she returned the polite greeting. She looked around the club and while there was nothing wrong with it, it really wasn’t her scene and she had come to chat, not yell to be heard as the place would fill up.

“Let’s go to your place, more privacy that way, right?”

Jemma chuckled quietly. "Exactly." She busied herself with grabbing her papers and files before nodding toward one of the back doors in the club, all but hidden in the wall.

"That's what I was think," she told her with a grin. "Do you mind dogs?" Whole Walter was as friendly as any dog she'd met she knew that he was intimidating.

Jemma popped into her office to deposit the paperwork before locking the door and leading Millie up the steps to her home.

Millie waited as Jemma pulled her things together and then they headed out the nearly hidden back door. Briefly she wondered if she should get her cloak bur figured she could always come back to get it.

“Dogs? No, I don’t mind them. I don’t have one but they don’t bother me. What kind of dog do you have?”

Jemma smiled, "oh good. He's a rotweiler. His name is Walter. He's very nice, I promise. Unless you're breaking in of course." When they entered the flat above the club Walkter bounded over to them but sat respectfully waiting to be petted. Jemma gave him a small scartch on his head as she entered.

"And here we are. What can I get you to drink? Pink? Or would you prefer to eat first?"

She nodded, not being able to remember the last time she had been around a dog that big, but when they reached the flat it wasn't too worry some and he let her rub his head.

Millie considered Jemma's offer before deciding. "I'll we should probably eat before we hit the pink, don't want to get too loose."

Jemma chuckled and nodded. "Of course. What would you like from the kitchen? I'll have the elves just deliver to us," she told her with a warm smile. She didn't feel like cooking tonight.

After she'd placed their orders with Ficus she gave Millie a tour of the flat, Walter following along behind them.

"So how was work?" she asked as they settled down in the living room, waiting for dinner.

After giving her order of a simple chicken salad, the elf took it to be filled. She had to admit that Jemma’s flat was lovely, but she couldn’t imagine living in the city herself. Even the family home had a nice bit of land to it..

Settling down on the couch Millie considered work for a minute before answering. “Work was busy, until I came to St Mungo’s I had no idea how careless people could be with their potions. How are things here?

"That must be a very interesting job," she pointed out. "I bet you have all sorts of stories you could tell." When Millicent asked about The Alexander she didn't think long about the answer.

"They are good. This is our busy season and the party has generated good business. But it's something I love doing, so I really don't mind." She explained truthfully.

"Unfortunately, it's surprisingly bad on your social life."

"Well, its never boring but it can leave you absolutely stumped at how dim people can be. Some of the cases are pretty funny."

Millie was glad to hear that the club was doing well. She could sympathize with Jemma's situation as well.

"Yeah who knew that having a job that was rewarding meant your love life had to suffer, right?"

"Oh? Are you allowed to share?" she asked with amusement already dancing in her eyes. She imagined that there were great stories Millicent could tell about peoples stupidity. "Is it true that it's worse around the full moon? I mean- not attacks, but you know? I heard people get crazy."

Jemma shook her head. "It's terrible! I mean, I don't really date anyway- but even if I were to, I work until four am every night and even if people want to take me on dates... I mean- the Alexander is what I love, it's where I'm happy. Dating at work is just not romantic, you know?" She shook her head.

"Hmm the best one lately was the wizard who mistook his wife's contraception potion with pepper-up and had a reaction. When he realized the mistake he freaked out thinking it was going to damage his virility." Millie smirked and shook his head. "Turns out he's just allergic to one of the ingredients in the contraception potion."

Having a love life was hard on both of them. "I totally understand, I wouldn't want to date another healer even if it mean being able see him more often."

Jemma's hand flew to her mouth as she laughed at Millie's story. "Oh that's so beautiful. Sometimes you have to wonder how peoples minds work at all. I've heard of people assuming those potions will make them shrink as well. As if it's reversing their sex." She rolled her eyes still amused.

"Exactly. And for me- it really helps to appear available. One of my friends likes to make other's jealous and pose as a boyfriend, or something to that extent, but really- my job is still in waitressing and a waitress does her best when she can flirt and make people believe whatever they want to. That's how you make your money."

Millie nodded. "Pretty much, I think that every one has a touch of madness in them. That or paranoia."

The idea of having someone pose as he boyfriend was an interesting concept if only to be able to tell her more handsy patients that there was someone else who would be upset by their actions.

"Maybe I should try that. Sure I don't work for tips but it might keep some unsavory types away."

"Maybe both," she agreed with a smile.

Jemma chuckled and raised a brow. "Have a boyfriend around?

"Oh that would be lovely. I could recommend a few burly types if you'd like," she winked. Of course her mind when straight to Kenneth and Caleb and she didn't particularly want to share either of them...

Millie shook her head. "Been on a couple of dates but nothing serious. It's a lot to ask someone to put up with me and my shedule."

She chuckled as Jemma offered burly types to pose for her as a boyfriend.

"Nah, we can hold of on that for now. I actually had a good date with George and would like to see if there's something there or not."

Jemma chuckled and nodded. "Alright, we'll hold off." When George came back up her eyes widened and she grinned.

It was right then that the elves served their dinners and she ordered Pink for both of them.

"Okay- so it wasn't just a snog then? You're like- really thinking about a relationship?" Jemma didn't make a face. She wasn't even sure what to think. It seemed so strange- Millie was beautiful and he was... George Weasley.

Millie picked up her fork as Jemma started questioning her. She grinned and kind of shrugged.

"We only sngogged, it relly felt like there might be somethng here, not that I have any experience with such things but that's what it felt like."

Millie covered her blush by taking a bite of her dinner, the fish was very delicately seasoned,

"It was nice, he's good at it. The whole date was fun, orginal. We went to an arcade that had games and other fun stuff before closing the night out in a coffee shop on a couch in front of a fire, a nice mocha and cupcakes." She paused to think about her answer.

"So yea, I'd like to do it again. If he does."

"Good at it?" she asked. "You mean the making out? Or the date thing?" This was not a conversation she ever thought she'd be having.

"Oh that does sound kind of fun for a first date. Wait- where was the making out? Not in the coffee shop?" Public snogging of a Weasley... she always knew Millicent had guts.

"Both really." Millie admitted. "I mean he could have done the tradional dinner or whatnot. But he choose something really fun. We were on the London eye could see the whole city lit up." she gushed.

She chuckled at Jemma when her friend realized she had been snogging in public. "Well, it's not like people there knew who either of us were and besides, he's done well for himself. That store is very successful."

"Yes, he gets points for creativity, I completely agree." She doubted that a Weasley could really pull of a nice dinner with nearly as much flair as some of their friends would have. It was probably better that he played to his strengths.

"Are you serious?! In public!?" She was grinning and laughing lightly. "The store is successful, sure, absolutely," she didn't add that he was still a Weasley. "And it sounds very romantic. And public. I'm kind of jealous Millie. I've never done- anything- publicish."

Millie smirked as she sipped her drink; she wasn’t sure what scandalized Jemma more the snogging in public or being with a Weasley.

“Well in public in Muggle London isn’t the same as being in public here. I like him and all but the Wizarding world is much more judgmental. It was romantic thought being all cuddled up like that one the couch in front of the fire with coffee and cupcakes.” She sighed just remembering.

"That's a good point," she agreed, taking a sip of her own pink. "It's not much different though," she teased.

Jemma nodded. "Is this something that you're thinking for- serious? I mean- like a relationship?"

Despite her feelings about Weasleys she had to admit that watching over London while drinking coffee and eating cupcakes did sound really romantic. "It sounds like it," she sighed whistfully. "I never go on romantic dates... Who would have known a clown like George Weasley would be a romantic though."

"Oh they probably just thought we were tourists or something," Millie wasn't too worried since it wouldn't show up in the Prophet. Jemma's other question caught her by surprise.

"I don't know, I might like it. I know I'd like to get to know him better." She admitted. Just listening to the way Jemma described it, George had been pretty romantic, she wondered if he knew it.

"Yeah who knew, romance and a good time all in one very imaginative body."

Jemma nodded. "Getting to know him is a good idea. I mean, you two come from completely different worlds, really." She took a sip of her Pink as she thought about it- it would be a difficult adjustment. And who knew if Millicent's friends would ever accept someone like George.

"Imaginative? That brings on all sorts of images you haven't hinted at yet," she smirked.

"You really think our lives were that different growing up?" Millie looked at Jemma a little confused. "We both did go to Hogwarts, did our part in the war and what not. How could it be that different?"

Granted they had only been kissing but George's kisses made her toes curl.

"And I'm not going to hint either." She told Jemma with a wink over her glass of pink.

Jemma was amazed by the question. To her the difference between them was like night and day. Even Jemma, who had seen the bottom of one-too-many bottles, who had spent nights on the streets, and who had had to work grimy job with men grabbing her arse (she'd fallen quite far from her upbringing) could see how different the Weasley's were.

"Well, yes," she said frankly. "Millie, your father owns a Quidditch team- his father could barely pay for the seven kids he had cramped into what I hear is a very tiny home in ill-repair," which was the nice way of saying a shack bursting at it's seams. "He grew up with a huge family and it was just you and your dad for you.

"Even at Hogwarts- he sorted Gryffindor, naturally, and you Slytherin. I'm not going to get into that whole mess of which is better," her opinion was clear and didn't see how it should be argued with a fellow Slytherin, "but even life at Hogwarts was different for us. You know what it was like for Slytherin's- always the first to be accused of anything, everyone assuming we were nothing but rich snobs waiting to take over the world at the earliest opportunity. Think of how the school treated Gryffindors. Not how Slytherin House did- but the school. They were the kings and queens- especially with Potter around. They could do no wrong and we could do nothing but wrong. I'd venture to say the expierence was completely different.

"Not to mention that George and his brother never finished Hogwarts and you had to live through the year with the Carrows." She shook her head taking a sip of her drink again. "I'd say there is very little in common there aside from the same names and faces about the school.

"Well, I suppose you both were known for your persuasive endeavors." That was one thing they had- both Millie and George had been bullies.

When she said she wasn't going to hint Jemma's eyes enlarged. "You're kidding! In the cafe?!"

Well when it was put that way, they certainly weren’t similar at all. While Mille hadn’t been spoiled, she had grown up know that if she wanted something chances are with a good argument she could get it. It wasn’t her fault her father was well off and his wasn’t. George certainly wasn’t poor any more.

“He has moved up in the world on his own even without finishing Hogwarts that has to mean something right?”

There is was they whole Gryffindor vs. Slytherin issue that she and George hadn’t even discussed yet. She wondered how that would go. “I don’t think he knows what House I was in at school honestly. It hasn’t come up!” She defended herself..

“Persuasive endeavours? I don’t recall being that persuasive in school other than that one year.” Millie argued,

Alright she would concede that making out in public just wasn’t done but it wasn’t like the muggles cared right/ “Yes, in the café but it was innocent.”
