Summary: Fleur decides to go to Hogsmeade since she's dropped Victoire off at Molly and Arthur's for the day. She drops in to see Penny, who she hasn't gotten to know until now.

Fleur was delighted that Molly was up for looking after Victoire for the day. She didn't want to tire Gabi out by leaving her daughter with her any time she felt like it. Besides, she'd hardly been out and about in ages and it felt good to go out and do something she wanted to do.

Fleur knew she could go to Flourish and Blotts, but Fleur enjoyed well loved and read books more. You always knew a book was good if you could tell it had been read several times all the way through.

She stepped into the shop, taking a look around before she started to peruse the stacks. Books were a delightful way to pass the time and she was sure she would pick up something she could read to Victoire for bedtime as well. And maybe she'd find a few things for Gabi to read - Merlin knew her sister needed to be better educated and learn a few more spells before she was out in the world on her own.

Fleur smiled as she ran her fingers over the spines of the books in front of her, reading the titles to herself. Reading was a rare luxury these days, but she fully intended to take it up again soon.

	Penny was so engrossed in the latest offering from Lolly Benoit that she didn't hear the door open until she looked up to scan the shop as she turned a page. 	As the blonde turned and looked at her, Penny felt as though she'd been kicked in the stomach and it took her a couple of seconds to see past the incredible blue eyes. Her eyes opened wide at the thought of that "Erm, I-ah. Thats a really sweet offer but I actually had dinner with Charlie the other week and erm, oh mind your step on the stairs."

"Beaxbatons is in a lovely part of the country, I'm envious that you got to spend time there. I lived and worked in France for about six months, but I had left Hogwarts by the time the Tri-Wizard tournament had happened. I heard all about it. "

"Oh! Oh youre the Beauxbatons champion! How lovely to meet you!"

"So you are the woman Charlie 'ad dinner with, then?" Fleur grinned, pleased to find out that the uncovered the mystery before her husband. "Still, we would love to 'ave you. I do not 'ave many friends 'ere and I am sure Bill and Victoire would enjoy your company as well."

Fleur waved a dismissive hand about the champion bit. That was a long time ago - well, not so many years ago, but still she was older now and she hadn't done very well in the tournament anyway.

"If things 'ad gone differently maybe I would 'ave done better in the tournament," she said with an indulgent smile.

"Erm, yes. I am." Fleur's grin was infectious "But, we're not. I mean, its not as though-"

"Oh a book." she finished lamely and reached up for a pink book of girly fairy tales. The fairy on the cover simpered and fluttered her wings invitingly.

"You should be proud that you were named the best in your school, and one of the top four in the Magical world. I think, sometimes its not the end result that matters, more the getting there."

"It is. Its based loosely on the muggle interpretation of faries, I think that the author spent some time in the Muggle world because of the way she describes them. Not a single biting one in sight, but its the story of a little girl who goes to the bottom of the garden and ends up being taken by the fairies to a magical world where she spends the day dancing with them and having a tea party with fox-glove cups and when she curls up on a bed of heather and moss, she wakes up in her own garden and its tea time."

"The ultimate escape experience I guess. But its rather popular, the authors actually been commissioned for a trilogy of the fairy books. You might have to watch out that the child you're reading it to doesn't go on a fairy hunt though. I know I did."

She hoped that Fleur wouldn't ask when the book had been published, being 25 and checking the bottom of your garden for magical worlds wasn't widespread in the wizarding world.

"Yes, that is exactly what I am looking for," she replied, taking the copy from Penny. "Victoire will be four this May, so she 'as not learned to fully read for 'erself. I 'ave been teaching 'er as we decided she will learn both French and English."

Fleur was very proud of her daughter. Victoire was learning quite well - anything that her mother could teach her. At least when she would sit still long enough to learn.

"Four's a very special age," Penny said with a soft smile. It was the age her sister had been when Penny had shown her first sign of magic, summoning a barrell of biscuits from the top shelf to share in their makeshift tent in the living room.

"Bi-lingual? Oh, she's very lucky. No need to mess around with those translation charms, they never seem to work anyway, do they? They're either all overly-formal or just plain gibberish. Well, the ones I've used are."

She gave a sheepish half-smile and shrug of her shoulders.

"You do?" Penny said with a grin. "I would be very grateful. I spent a year in Rouen working in a bar and my French improved a lot there, but to be able to understand Italian better would be fantastic."

Struck by sudden inspiration, Penny offered a large smile to her customer "Would you mind giving me just a moment? We had a large assignment sent in last night and I haven't been able to unpack it yet."

Leaving Fleur alone for a moment she returned quickly, her arms full of beautifully bound childrens books. "This is a childrens classics collection, they're wizarding tales which have been reworked for kids and are perfect for reading aloud. I think they might be just what you require."

Fleur was already planning on purchasing all the books Penny had suggested so far. Expanding Victoire's library was something that she had really wanted to do for quite some time now and she was glad she had taken the day to come to Hogsmeade.

"They are beautiful," Fleur grinned, reaching out to take some of the books from Penny. "I will take all of them, including these with the fairies. I am sure Victoire will enjoy them."
