Summary: Stamford finally gets to speak to the Prime Minister and inform him of the problems in the wizarding world.
Stamford rang David before Apparating to his office with Kenneth in tow. David escorted them to see the Prime Minister. It was close to ten o'clock, and 10 Downing wasn't as busy as it usually was during the day, although there were still plenty of people around. It was fortunate that Stamford had opted for Muggle clothes, making the visit a little less conspicious. "Good evening, Prime Minister," he said after he was let into Blair's office. "I apologise for such intrution, but I'm here to let you know that there was a terrorist attack in the wizarding world on Saturday. Diggory is dead, and the interim Minister is still in the hospital. I'm here to ask you to surrender the portrait until we can be sure that the next minister is appointed through regular means and doesn't mean you no harm." It wasn't a request, but an order, they both knew it, and Blair didn't question it too much, thankfully.
Stamford had taken time to learn about the portrait when he'd been appointed liaison to the Muggle government. Using the spell he had learnt, he took the portrait down, shrunk it and put it in his pocket, and then handed David a file. "Those are the photos of some of the Death- terrorists. If any of your men see them, they should shoot on sight. They will kill you if they get close enough. Any hesitation on your part could be fatal."
David looked at the pictures before handing the file to the Prime Minister, who looked at every picture before returning the file. "We'll make sure that the pictures are sent to all our agencies," Blair said. "Anything else?"
"Actually, Sir, we passed regulations dealing prohibiting magical international travels, which would mean that these terrorists would have to go through Muggle- through your customs. Perhaps, we can arrenge for a few wizards to be on duty as well. We'll have to find people who are knowledgeable in your ways, but I think it might minimise risks for everything." He sighed and looked at David for a moment. "Also, our response procedures are very deficient. We never had to deal with terrorist activities. I was hoping that you could share with us unclassified response procedures."
Blair looked at Stamford, and then nodded. "David can give you what we have, and if you know anything else, get in touch with him. I don't want strangers walking into my office."
"Understood, Sir. I'll ring him with any news, and the name of the new minister as soon as I know." He bowed his head slightly. "Thank you for your time, and have a good night."
David escorted them out, and they returned to his office. "Let me get you the information you need," he said as he copied the information from his computer to a memory card. "Here. I hope this help, and get some rest, because you look like shit."
Stamford snorted. "Feel like it too, but hopefully we'll have a Minister soon, and things can go back to normal."
"We can go out to dinner again," David said.
"Yes? I don't remember ever making it to dinner," he said, chuckling. "I'll see you soon, David." He turned to Kenneth. "Ready?" When Kenneth nodded, he Apparated both to his house.
