RP: Reactionary, Incredibly Protected Letters
When: 8 March, 2004
Who: Cass, Ginny, Luna, Neville
Where: In the Letter, or Owls in the Sky
Private/Public: Private
Rating: Pretty tame, maybe?
Summary: Ginny contacts the rest of her group.
Ginny had spent the last hour pacing her room. Of course, she'd received an owl. She'd signed her name, and then all the information about the resistance was revealed to her. At least, all the information that she was allowed to know, and that was the names of her two dearest friends, Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom, along with the name of Cass Vaisey.
Percy had brought Cass to Christmas, and the wizard had flirted with her a few times when they had been out. They'd had coffee. Percy seemed to trust him, and Percy, she knew, was pretty cautious about people. Harry also seemed to trust him, of course, Harry had not always been right before, but he'd always been her weak spot. And Ginny knew this of herself, but it didn't mean she could stop it. She'd trust Harry's judgement, as well. It was Percy and Harry that made her so willing to work with Cass. It overruled the other bits of unfamiliarity and the Slytherin prejudice, that she knew she harbored within her.
In contrast Luna and Neville, she could hardly think of anyone that she trusted more.
She set down at her desk, and pulled out two books both about Charms, one about communication, one about protective charms. After thirty minutes of perusing it, she began to write.
Dear C., L., & N.,
Seeing as we know who each other are, I thought it would be good to make contact. After all, we're meant to work together. I guess we should meet up to figure out how we really want to go about this, yes?
Well, two of us stay in the same place, so that is an option. Private residences tend to be more, well, private, obviously. However, I guess, all suggestions are good, yes? It's best we keep all of our options and weaknesses in mind, so to speak.
I'm not really sure how to go about this, but I'm sure we can all figure it out. I'm sure we've all do a bit of covert things before.
Thoughts?
G.M.W.
P.S. I found a charm that links these letters, so that we can read each others' replies. I think maybe if we continue writing each other, we should find other monikers. Oh, and this message will be destroyed when we're finished. It shouldn't be too dangerous.
Ginny tapped the letter, and two more copies appeared. After placing security hexes on them, knowing that she was perhaps being neurotically cautious. She wasn't used to that.
She sealed all three in envelopes, and sent two in the direction of Neville and Cass with her owl. The last she put it on the table in the living room, where she normal put Luna's stack of mail. She leaned back on the couch, letting her body sink into the soft cushions.
And so it was beginning, for real.
