Mama and Papa had been fighting again.

Tigerlily had lost track of what this one was about. Something something teaching something something revenge something something. She was pretty sure her name had come up once or twice in the fight but she wasn't sure that it was entirely about her. Honestly, Mama and Papa fought all the time and Tigerlily had long stopped getting concerned about it. It was just how they talked to each other.

Now if they drew swords on each other, that was when you got worried. But usually that only happened with a few very tense subjects, and they both knew not to bring them up in front of her. Not that Tigerlily didn't spy, but... today didn't seem like it was going to be one of those days, so she'd gotten bored fairly quickly.

She'd slipped off the ship when no one was paying attention to her. It was sloppy on behalf of the crew, but how else were they going to learn if she didn't teach them? She simply believed that she was on the shores of the island rather than on the deck of the Jolly Roger and poof, it just sort of happened. The island had a magical current of energy that ran through it, and though Tigerlily tried to teach the others how to make use of it, they never seemed able to make it work for them the way she could. It made Mama and Papa nervous - one of the few things they could agree on, actually - but Tigerlily couldn't help herself sometimes. It begged to be used, called to her like a mermaid's song. She tried to be careful, she did, but today was not one of the days when she'd been successful.

She loved Neverland, sometimes. There was a beauty within the danger that was exclusive to this place. Papa told stories of other worlds, worlds that had beauty that she could only imagine, but form his descriptions she didn't think anything could rival this island. But during the day, when the sun was shining and clearly outlining the traps of the Lost Boys, and the plants and wildlife you wanted to avoid... Tigerlily felt more at peace here than anything.

She was wandering along, taking the time to smell the (nonpoisonous) flowers, and generally trying to enjoy herself. But maybe she wasn't paying as close attention to her surroundings as she should have been...

Tinkerbell was making the trek back to her home along one of the island's overgrown paths like she had pretty much every day since she had been there, she wasn't even sure how long it had been since she first arrived; Neverland had a habit of playing tricks on one's mind. Years at least, maybe a decade? Two? Who could be sure, the fact of the matter was that the ex-fairy believed that her ending up on the island was because of her misdeeds as fairy and being there was her punishment.

As she walked through the scrub Tink came across a sight that was rarely seen on the island, a young girl who seemed to be having a jolly time running about and smelling the flowers. Tink thought she was an illusion at first; girls weren't allowed in Neverland but the girl didn't move like a figment of her imagination, how odd.

Tink's observation of the child stopped abruptly however when she noticed a snake slithering towards her, that wasn't good at all. She moved quickly and got to the girl before the animal did, breaking its neck in the process. She looked at the child.

"It's dangerous for you to be here little one." Tink said as she stuffed the dead snake into her bag, what to have for dinner had been decided. "However did you get here?"

Tigerlily gasped, her muscles tensing at the sound of movement behind her and turned in time to see Tinkerbell kill the snake. For a few moments after, her eyes were wide with a cross between fear and awe, but that particular spell was broken at the endearment 'little one'. Tigerlily puffed up her chest with a faint "Hmph" sticking her nose into the air. While she may not outright Tinkerbell's choice of words, her manner would imply it for her.

"I would have been fine, you know," she said, nodding to the snake and ignoring the question. "I didn't need your help." And that may or may not have been true. Tigerlily hadn't been aware of anyone approaching her, snake or otherwise, and while she may have heard it when he moved to strike, she couldn't be certain of that - and she may not have moved in time to avoid being bitten. But even still, she thought her magic could have saved her.

Turning, she moved to continue on the path, planning to go without Tinkerbell and hoping the woman would take the hint. Though there was a part of Tigerlily who was faintly curious about her, who kept sneaking a peek over her shoulder to see if Tinkerbell was following.

Tinkerbell rolled her eyes, it was bad enough that she was frequently a target for the lost boys, now there was a bratty girl too. This truly was hell. The spark of concern she had felt for the child quickly left when she opened her mouth.

"You keep telling yourself sweetheart and if you find that big tiger that roams this jungle well, it will be a good day for him now won't it?" She was small but the girl would be a tasty treat for her friend the tiger.

Tinkerbell didn't have a lot of friends on the island, but the animals (well the bigger ones at least) were her allies. They helped keep the lost boys away from her tree and her possessions.

Tink wondered if she should follow the girl but decided against it, helping got her into trouble and if she was already in Neverland than the girl was trouble, either a witch or Peter's new obsession. That boy didn't know when to leave things well alone.

Tink shook her head and started back down the trail, the one which the little girl was now following as well. "Just so you know, I'm not following you." Tink informed her. "My house is nearby."

"He's not a tiger," Tigerlily scoffed faintly. Not that she would know - she wasn't entirely sure what a tiger was. "And he wouldn't eat me." Well, he might if he were particularly hungry - Tigerlily knew better than to actively befriend the creatures who lived in Neverland - but she did admire them, and have affection and respect for them. She liked to think that that respect was returned - though in all honesty, perhaps it was just that she kept her distance from them.

When Tinkerbell started to follow her, Tigerlily pretended to be highly annoyed and skeptical about the fact that her house was nearby. Her expression and attitude indicated as much. Though in reality, Tigerlily was pleased by this behaviour. She didn't see many adults in Neverland - with the exception of the Jolly Roger crew - and the idea that this woman lived here - had a house here - and Tigerlily hadn't known about it was strange to her. It meant her parents had done a better job "sheltering" her from Neverland than she'd realized. She was curious about the woman, and enjoyed the opportunity to get a better look at her.

"How do you live here and I've never heard of you?" she asked, forgetting for the moment that she was meant to be ignoring the woman, as they were suppsed to be travelling their separate ways. Also forgetting they hadn't actually introduced themselves, so for all Tigerlily knew she had heard of her. But those sorts of details seemed rather trivial to her now in the light of something new and interesting to learn about.

"No, a tiger is a big stripy cat. Though he does like being scratched behind the ears." Tink grinned, many a night had she and Toby scared away the lost boys; they would go back to camp and Pan would say they were wusses, still it helped him thin out the number of minions he had.

Tink looked at the girl curiously. "Well to be honest, I've never heard of you either." Neverland was a very male oriented place, no girls allowed. Had there been a girl there, Tinkerbell was sure she would have heard about it. That attitude though, she sounded like royalty that couldn't be right, the only ruler of Neverland was Pan.

"I live in a tree house kind of away from everyone else." Being on the island had made a somewhat of a hermit out of her but Tink didn't mind, she managed to work without too much hassle. It was the only thing she took joy in now days.

"Maybe you have heard of me, some of the boys refer to me as the green witch." It amused Tink greatly to be called that; her, a witch? The very idea.

Tigerlily frowned. A big striped cat. She tilted her head from side to side as she considered whether there were any creatures in Neverland that fit that description before she decided that she wasn't interested in that particular line of conversation and opted not to respond.

When Tinkerbell mentioned that she hadn't heard of Tigerlily either, the girl sulked faintly. "I'm supposed to stay hidden for safety," she muttered, kicking at the dirt. "I don't know why it matters, Pan and the boys all know I'm here anyway." There was a shifting to her shoulders as she started to push herself up to full height, proud as anything. "Tigerlily Jones, of the Jolly Roger." It would please her if Tinkerbell had a sudden flash of recognition now that she knew the girl's name, but chances were good that her parents had been better about keeping her story quiet. Maybe it really was only Pan who knew about her - and that was just because you really couldn't keep secrets from The Shadow.

"The Green Witch..." Tigerlily repeated, frowning. It was a familiar sounding title, but Tigerlily hadn't thought that when the Lost Boys threatened each other with that moniker that they were being serious. She'd thought that it was a figure of speech. Finding that their steps had moved into sync with one another so that they were walking nearly side by side, Tigerlily paused in her step to stare accusingly and create some distance between them. "Do you really take out the eyeballs of poisoned children as flavour for your soup?"

She didn't think so. The Lost Boys were stupid, and said stupid things to frighten each other. And it wasn't as though Tigerlily expected The Green Witch to answer honestly, really. But she thought that she could learn a lot about her travelling companion by her response to that question.

The name didn't sound familiar to Tinkerbell but the Jolly Roger? That meant she was pirate stock. Irresponsible of a pirate to willing bring his child here of all places, it wasn't exactly a holiday destination. Tink wondered how much her parents cared for her, if they knew she was wandering about the island.

Tink smirked at her question and stopped, sizing the girl up. "Well I do need something to accompany this snake and you do have such pretty eyes."

She paused for a moment waiting for the girl to either scream in horror and run away or take up a fighting stance but in the end she sighed, shaking her head; lying had never been a strong point of hers.

"Kid I'm not a witch, I'm a nobody. I ended up here because I found myself in the wrong and I thought Neverland would be my redemption." And gee, look how well that turned out. "If you're looking for someone fun to bother then I'm sure the boys will amuse you."

Tink walked on ahead and stopped by a large tree, she pointed upwards. "My home. So you have being a sitting duck out here, I'm going to get my dinner started."

Tigerlily snorted at Tinkerbell's response to her question. She didn't believe the response to be genuine - as she'd just said, she would need to have been poisoned first, and so far she hadn't given Tinkerbell the opportunity to poison her - and a moment later it was revealed it hadn't been. Tigerlily dispelled all the rumours she'd heard as myths created by the Lost Boys to frighten each other, and decided this "Green Witch" was not a threat at all. Certainly not for the likes of her.

"The Boys are boring," Tigerlily said dismissively at the idea that she could have fun pestering the boys. "There's only so many times you can make them chase their own tails before you wonder why you're even bothering." Well, Baelfire was all right. But Papa didn't like her playing with him much. Tigerlily didn't know why.

"If you're not a witch, who are you then?" she asked, following the point of Tinkerbell's finger up the tree to the large treehouse. Tigerlily had sort of forgotten that she had initially not planned on travelling with Tinkerbell, and now seemed inclined to follow her up to the treehouse. Perhaps not inside it - Tigerlily might dangle from the branches outside of her window - but her intent was to hover nearby enough in order to continue the line of conversation. There was something about this woman that was intriguing to her. Unless she was outright shunned - which had happened in the past - Tigerlily was just going to follow along. And possibly keep pestering the woman with questions.

Not only were they boring as the girl put it, but they were all psychopathic little loonies who wanted to follow in their king's footsteps obviously. It was reasons like this that Tinkerbell chose to study the native plants for potions to use against them and befriend the larger animals for security.

"Why do you want to know so badly?" Tinkerbell asked, she figured since the child thought the lost boys were boring that she was hard up for entertainment. She probably was if she'd talk to a stranger with no qualms about getting her throat slit. Tink shook her head and climbed the ladder into her home. "If I was somebody kid, I definitely wouldn't be in Neverland now would I?" She started emptying out her bag and putting her things away; little potion bottles, wooden figurines, blueprints and all manner of other things. She took the snake out and started to cut it up ready to eat for dinner.

"Peter said to me once that I was one of the lost, that I belong here. That's pretty accurate." She looked out the window at the girl. "So are you staying for dinner or what?"

Though Tinkerbell thought of the Lost Boys as psychopathic little loonies, Tigerlily really only thought of them as boring. She had no way of judging "normal" given her upbringing. To her, the strange things of Neverland were just... the way things were. She'd never known any different.

When Tinkerbell questioned Tigerlily's curiosity, she shrugged. Her eyes were wandering around the home the woman had made for herself, peeking in curiosity at the dried out plants sitting around and the half created elixirs that might have been in progress. She was possibly reaching out with the intention to touch some of them, as well. She was beginning to once again question the accuracy of some of the Lost Boys statements, but it was a bit late now to be putting up her guard and becoming fearful. Besides, she really didn't believe herself to be in any danger - the woman had saved her from a snake, after all. Besides, Tigerlily had her magic - in the end, she was confident that she could take care of herself.

The truth was, the reason Tigerlily wanted to know was purely curiosity, but she was a bit embarrassed to admit that. She needed a stronger answer to come out with, a braver one, one that made more sense. Puffing up her chest, she looked Tinkerbell in the eye and said, "I'm going to be the ruler of Neverland someday, after Pan. I need to know about its inhabitants."

She decided to ignore the question about dinner. While she might stay, she probably wouldn't eat. With all the strange plants and brews around, that could lead to danger. Safer to eat at home.
