All of my characters' names came from the Final Fantasy Tactics name table. But I did put some thought into it!
Arabella -- I love alliteration and I wanted to use the nickname Belle/Bella as a reference to the pirate captain from Dragon Age, Isabela. Her name was originally Mirabella Morgant, but I liked the name Ancelot a lot and wanted to keep the alliteration going. So it was between Annabel and Arabella and lmao Annabel kind of sounds like a cow name and Arabella is pretty unique!
Zacheus -- I wanted a Final Fantasy name that was pretty close to a Biblical name. I think I originally picked Jonathas, then switched to Wilham for some reason? But a. Wilham/Wilcar was bound to get confusing and b. that's not Biblical. I went with Zacheus because I thought the behindthename.com description for Zaccaheus was pretty fitting: From the Greek form of the Hebrew name זַכָּי (Zakkay) which meant "pure". In the New Testament he is a tax collector of Jericho who gives half of his possessions to charity.
Redwald -- This is a color thing, actually! I was torn between Carmine and Redwald as first names or Scarlet/Scarlett as a surname. But I really liked Vannes as a last name, especially for a noble family, and Redwald is such a ridiculous and fussy name that I could not resist.
