Altair bowed back at her. He hadn't meant to startle her, but he had been told before that he had the habit of entering rooms quietly. It was one of the many traits that had led him on his current path of employment.
"I'm pleased to meet you, Lady Seloria," he said, smiling in what he hoped was a charming way. "I hadn't been expecting any company this afternoon, but if you're here to see my father or my eldest brother, they should both be along shortly."
He'd noticed her looking out at the gardens when he'd come in, so he added, "Are you interested in our gardens? We have quite a few things just starting to bloom. I can show you around before you leave, if you'd like."
