Seloria listened with much interest as the Lord spoke about how he liked the gardens. The words told her much about him as a person. Her smile was polite and she widened her eyes slightly to look very openly and innocently interested in his words. There was a slight parting of her lips when he started talking about just how rare and exotic some had been. The woman was interested in their origins, yes, but he was speaking as if it were an inventory. There was a distinct lack of passion, but a lot of pride.
Another glance stolen to Altair, dared even, as the man spoke. The smile he gave her, made her smile deepen just a little. It felt like a secret.
She'd finished her cake and most of her tea when Altair had interrupted his father. She was most thankful, because he did like to bluster on about a lot of things. Seloria stood as the men did and bowed her head. "Thank you for your time. It has been a pleasure," she said before they turned and left.
Turning her attention back to Altair, she regarded him differently as she slid her hand into his. While she was still polite, her body seemed slightly more relaxed. "I believe I would enjoy a tour of the gardens," she started waiting a tick more as if waiting for something. "You can show me all those prize winning rarities," she said in good humor. At least, she hoped he'd take it as such. He seemed just as impressed with his father's speech as she had. "And tell me if you know any less...formal places that I may venture into. While the ladies of the other houses were so kind to tell me where I could be seen. I would rather know places I would not." That was a loaded request, but she was interested to know his answer.
