Something in Divina softened as Carolina assisted her. Normally, she did not like to be taken care of, for anyone to think that she was less than capable of handling herself. But even she was not unmoved by small kindnesses such as these, at once unnecessary and essential. The fell knight found her mood lightening, her usual taciturnity melting into an almost convivial openness.
"You know that I always do," Divina said. The time that she had bothered to hide her bloodlust was long gone. The enjoyment she derived from fighting was borderline unhealthy. She could not imagine how she would have fared had she been placed in another Guild.
Recalling the details of the fight, Divina continued, "It was a difficult battle. The monster that we fought had the appearance of a demon." She laughed briefly. "And was as dramatic as one, too. Literally ablaze. As arrogant as Faram Himself."
Divina took another forkful of noodles, relishing the taste of the broth Carolina had used for the soup. "That such monsters exist in this planet is interesting." Exciting.
