When every day is the same old routine, people change it up and kill monotony.
Who: Quenten and Stone.
What: Baby Thief’s First Non-work Visit.
When: Mid-afternoon.
Where: The Mages Tower, Quen’s room.
Rating: PG-13, due to Stone’s potty mouth.
Status: Complete!!!
The girl from the network—Quenten?—had made Stone an offer to come see her in the Mages Tower. And why not? There was a supply of food in the icebox, Audren had a day off from school, and nothing had come up in the past two or so days, so it was basically one big free period for the girl.
Her usual ‘disguise’ of her hair stuffed up into a hat was donned, and Stone left her house again, waving at her younger brother, who was running with some other boys and girls his age, and she started off. The city streets were, as usual, filled with the peddlers and the beggars, the poor and the poorer. The pale youth paid them no mind, instead letting her thoughts wander.
An entire leisure visit. Not to dump feelings, or slowly repay a debt, or run errands for someone, or steal things. It was a first in a long, long time, and if Stone were another person, she might have felt it was too long. Instead, she mostly felt it was weird.
She approached the glory that was the Tower, looking up in expressionless admiration briefly as she made her way to the main gate, and entered. Visiting this place for Peony had made it less of a grandiose mystery and more of a place where a bunch of spellcasters lived. One waystone up was the only requirement this time, and for this, Stone was glad.
The door to Quenten’s room was soon in view, and the dark-haired girl knocked at it a few times and waited. Maybe she should’ve brought cookies or something.
