When: Tonight

Juliette had intended to keep her word and ask around her friends for a place to stay this evening, until she had taken stock of her friends and realized that literally any person she knew well enough was either living in a barrack or dormitory of some sort or, well, Storm (the horror of what would be said if she asked Storm's family to take her in overnight did not bear consideration). Which was why this evening found her seated alone by a window at a small restaurant across from her favorite Nobles' District park, contemplating the relative worths of asking the Countess for assistance (knowing that Alys might be reprimanded) or seeing if the barracks at Ashwyrm Hall might take one more for the night (this seemed a bit frightening -- an open sleeping area! Co-ed! -- but also the least troublesome for others). She prodded at her pasta, moving the shrimp and scallops in their white wine sauce around the plate of noodles as she thought. What to do? It seemed likely that Alys was entertaining a......... gentleman caller, else why would she ask Juliette to leave? Was she, perhaps, thinking of marriage sometime soon, after all? Or was it someone from her previous life? If so, then all the more reason not to go to the Countess; for all that Countess Albrecht had her share of rumors, she was a widow and might not appreciate the idea of her unmarried ward with a... dalliance. Oh, she was just too young to think about all of this. Why couldn't things be simple? She sighed heavily and wound noodles around her fork. First, food. Then, she supposed, the barracks. |
