He'd been a bit nervous she wouldn't like it. Admittedly, it would assist in making her feel more normal he thought, allow her to interact more freely with others and the world around her but... Would that be safe? Would Quen like the side of people she saw on the network that might not be heard or witnessed in physical interactions with them? Would he be okay with what she heard people talking about there? He... Couldn't protect her forever even if he wanted desperately to try. Some day she would grow up and he'd be forced to accept that, as he learned more and more with each passing day but... He could pretend at least a little longer, right?
"You're welcome." He smiled tiredly, but the fact that he was pleased with her response to the device. Really, it might allow them to have more contact than they did now, which he always felt bad of. Really, he should be trying to see her at least a few times a week, to check in and make sure she was okay but... Aside from the family dinner, there was unfortunately no promise of anything else. A hand scrubbed over his face and the scruff on his chin.
"Oh are you?" He laughed lightly, picking up his cup after she'd poured it. She'd gotten quite good at this over the years, there was hardly anything, if anything, spilled at all. "I guess they'll just have to come take it up with me then." There was a bit of amusement, the idea of Quen being nice all over the network and some big burly guy managing to magically take offense was just too ridiculous.
"Mostly taking care of people. There's been a lot of accidents after the festival and there were plenty of fighters who needed help with the exhibition matches." He wetted his lips before blowing over the tea in his cup. "How about you? Are your studies going alright?"
