Sky's trip to the Baker's Dozen had been with determined purpose: buy melonpan for Audrey and the bite-size brownies for Pyr. They were purchased with the wages Arwel gave them rather than risk picking the pockets of passersby in the Bazaar; from the way Pyr made it sound, there was little time to waste, and if Juliette did manage to find either of them before Sky could make it to the Cathedral, then his need to save his own money would be wasted.
Quickly, he darted in and out of alleyways until he made it to the Cathedral, his pockets stuffed with tiny brownies and his bag hiding the melonpan meant for Audrey. Later, he'd have to try to go down to the Sapphire House to drop them off -- or maybe he could bribe an acolyte to do it! Or, if Audrey did try to track him down to kill him as he was beginning to fear, maybe the melonpan would be the perfect diversion he needed to flee. But his brother came first, and hopefully, he could find him before long.
Unfortunately, the Cathedral was huge, and he didn't know how to begin looking for Pyr. Fortunately, Sky was good at tracking down his brother. He kept to the shadows and tried to think like Pyr: where would he go in the church if he was here? His friend Storm lived here, right? Maybe he could just ask, but who knew who might have seen Pyr already?
What to do, what to do, he thought as he slipped into a corridor where there weren't a lot of priests and monks and other churchy types. Once he made it far enough in, he was sure not to run into anybody who would recognize him as Pyr-of-only-a-few-minutes-ago-who-was-now-dressed-differently, and he asked a passing nun for directions to where he could find Storm.
Finally, finally, he found where he needed to be, and he pushed open the door to find his brother and his brother's friend already there. "Found you!" he said, pulling out the smashed brownie bites from his pockets. "It's a good hiding place." Then he looked at Storm and waved. "Hi again."
