"Of course," said Siana, unsure of whether or not to smile at Magnolia's insistence, "my apologies." She had been taught early on always to err on the side of manners and only dropped titles and proper addresses at the recipient's request, as Magnolia had done so now, though sometimes the familiar address still felt uncomfortable on Siana's tongue. So she refrained from it for now.
The premise of the book sounded truly interesting, and Siana thought that maybe picking up an extra book today would not be the most terrible thing she did today. She pulled the book into her arms and shook her head to Magnolia's question. "I have only ever read one of her novels before, and though I have enjoyed it, it's been years. It wouldn't be fair to call myself a fan. Are you?"
