“She’s brilliant and very talented,” Emily gushed, “She told me of her success in the Founders play at the Noble’s Ball.” Where Emily had made her first true public appearance beyond just walking around the city. That had been quite the eventful day, but she’d been able to catch up a bit with Arielle who had remembered her as well. It was nice to know that people still knew who she was, though more were recalling the manner in which she vanished. She was dead, then she wasn’t, and that was reason enough to remember anyone.
“I believe you were just starting your training for blue mage,” Emily recalled thoughtfully, “But you abandoned it? That is a pity.” Though it left the wonder as to what he had decided to study instead. Which he then provided. Emily let an airy laugh escape her lips, “I think whatever you choose to study, you learn something from it.” Her time as a white mage had proved useful for her learning spells and potions, but also resilience as she had to apply that knowledge repeatedly in small skirmishes, and it prepared her for the more mind challenging spells that being a black mage required.
Her eyes widened and she smiled even bigger, “Merri, that’s wonderful. Who is she? What is she like? No no, you cannot tell me that you are dating someone and then try to wiggle your way out of talking about her. Even if hasn’t been for very long, I want all the details. What brought it about? Did I know her? Merri, you must tell me, I insist.”
