Emily closed what distance there had been in that moment's hesitation, taking his hands into hers and then smiling happily at him, "I'm so glad you're still here. Of so many people I had to leave behind, I feared many had gone and that you might have been among them, but here you are." Her face looked relieved at the sight of him and soon she was seating herself in a chair that was being provided for her. She sat own gracefully in a fluid motion an her dress seemed to fall into place exactly as it needed to.
The question of how she was brought a moment of hesitation, but only because she seemed to be searching for the words needed to express herself. "I have been well," Emily said, "Even better now that I find myself in the company of good friends." The question, if he wanted expanded upon, would have to be further probe. Emily was not a woman known for being showy with words and while she loved conversation, it did not mean that she dominated it.
"Five years is quite a long time," she said, "The number feels small but it feels longer. So much has changed. I saw the bard, Arielle at the nobles ball, and she's improved so much. I was so happy to see how much fortune seems to have smiled upon her. But you, you must tell me how things with you have been doing."
