Who: Oliver Wood and Miles Bletchley
What:Keepers meetup and discuss the state of it all
Where:The Leaky
When:Tuesday night
Rating: Lowish, maybe swearing, who knows?
The sound of the glass tapping in front of Oliver shook him awake. He was seated on a shabby stool, at the shabby bar, and looked around somewhat surprised to find himself there. He had been in such a daze the last few weeks. Ever since his mom had passed away, each day was just one haze to the next. There were moments when he felt lucid and alive, and they were either when he was with Penny, or when he was overcome with sorrow. He didn't feel like the latter tonight, and hopefully later that evening he would be with the former, but he wanted some time to talk with a fellow man, bounce ideas around.
It was funny. At Hogwarts, when all that mattered was the House Cup, Miles had seemed like a horrible jerk who was to be stopped at all cost. Now that they had become men and were on professional teams, he certainly felt they had more in common. He didn't seem like someone who put stock in the philosophies of his House and for that he was to be commended. Not to mention, he had a wit and a jokey manner about him, and Oliver liked that. It was the same reason he had grown to enjoy the company of George Weasley, even more than he had loved him in school. Tonight, Oliver wanted to talk Quidditch, and he figured nothing better than another Keeper to do that with. He had other thoughts on his mind, but those would come he supposed.
He took up his first drink, his typical firewhiskey, and sipped it slowly. He wondered what Miles was considering...what did he mean in his journal about yes or no? He was dying to ask. Just as he thought that, the creak of the Leaky's door alerted him to the presence of a new arrival, and Oliver was delighted to see his drinking companion had arrived.
"Well if it isn't the Foulmouth himself. Come take a load off Miles, and Tom, get this man whatever he desires."
