All day, Luna had kept to herself. She slept in until lunchtime, because she hadn't slept that well the night before. Looking out of the window once, she'd caught a glimpse of the Dark Mark, and it reminded her of earlier in the day, when she'd seen it over her own house, and she closed the curtains so she didn't have to see it anymore, but had still been unable to sleep. When she woke up, she replied to a few messages of condolence sent to her by her dad's work colleagues and avid readers of The Quibbler, before going outside, and sitting by Dobby's grave, just thinking. She'd comforted so many people about their loved ones dying, telling them they'd see them again one day, that it was ironic that these words did little to comfort her.
When she went back inside, she tried to busy herself helping around the house. She straightened up a few rooms and made them look nice, and when she was done with that, she went to the room she was staying in, and stared at her open journal, just so she didn't feel alone. She wanted it to stop hurting, she wanted things back to the way they were, she wanted her daddy back. Lady lay curled up on the bed next to her, and Luna stroked her, absent-mindedly.
Hearing someone in the kitchen, Luna headed down, and spotted Fleur making dinner, and she came over, ready for another distraction, pulling her hair back into a ponytail with a bobble she had on her wrist. "I can help with dinner, if you'd like? You're being so kind to me, letting me stay here, it's the least I can do."
