Who: Art & Open (students I mean or teachers, just lets keep out serial killers)
What:  Head to nick some books about ancient runes.
Where: Fourth corridor then Library, Restricted Section
When: Night after Albus' attack, past curfew, as most of her threads.
Rating: Depends on who responds, Art can be tame or sailor cursing like

Art had been involved in many clandestine, not to say illicit operations lately, go from smoking pot, to banging a boy, to be past curfew, you name it, but this well this was far from her usual naughty rule breaking nature, this was more like breaking in. Since the second attack it was harder to get everywhere, from sneaking out of the dorms to walking down an aisle dodging the Aurors. It had been hard since Dahlia's but now, well now it was bloody impossible, everyone was out patrolling, new measures of security were taken, dorms were randomly checked and curfew when narrower.

Still Art ventured outside, knowing she couldn't even use the light form her wand now. She was bloody frightened, not to mention she had to cover her back from both Aurors and who ever this serial killer was. It sort of kicked in right then, she was walking in the dark with a killer awaiting somewhere in the shadows. She almost retreated with that mere thought, but here is something you don't know about her, Art has random episodes of photographic memory, real photographic memory, not only colour remembrance, but exact image in her head. She could perfectly recall the runes in Albus' arms, she deciphered some, but not all, and she couldn't make out a real translation, so she needed a bit of extra help.

Part of it was out of her curious personality, the other was well foolish will to be brave, sometimes she really wondered why she wasn't a Gryffindor really she had a lot of characteristics from that house, yet Gryffindor or not she was heading towards the Library, out to manage her way into the Restricted section, damn her if she was caught, she was going to give it a try.

She tip toed her way through the corridor when she heard distinct footsteps and she nearly screamed, but she held herself back, it could be anyone, the killer, pray Merlin not, an Auror, fuck!, or another student...

"Library's just down the hall" Art replied to Candace worried statement, it was true, they couldn't just stay in the middle of the corridor, someone was ought to catch them, and if they didn't, then really the Aurors were bloody useless.

She pulled Wes and tried to make him walk steadier, he must have smoked some pot, she was even starting to feel dizzy with the mere smell of it. Art made a sign to Candace for her to help on the stoned boy, and see if they could get anywhere fast, it was probably her imagination but she thought she heard steps.

The library appeared just a few steps forward and they all walked as silently as they could, taking in count they were somewhat dragging Wes. Art was quite glad to have found them, despite the fact that the boy was so high he'd be of little help, and Candace wasn't really up to her plans, but still it was somewhat better than going at it all alone, plus, she was a sucker for sniffing certain's lad hair.

"Art!" Wes greeted happily, hugging her heartily with the arm she had pulled across her shoulders, "And...uh.." he looked Candace with the exact expression as someone who'd long since forgotten your name but was so sure it began with a K...or a Q....possible an L?

"You!" He said finally with a smile, and mentally congratulated himself on a good save. He wrapped his other arm affectionly around Candace's shoulders and allowed the two girls to lead him down the corridor, paper butterflies swooping around them like moths to flames.

"W-what're you doing out of dorms?" He asked in a stage whisper, looking between them with red eyes, letting the question hover for either of them. He looked up as the passed through a door in confusion and motioned to their surroundings, "Why are we in the library?"

Art just rolled her eyes at Wes abrupt hello, and the obvious fact that he couldn’t remember Candace name for his life. She wondered what the origami butterflies were for, but she didn’t mind them, any other night she would have been very amused by them, they were definitely lovely, and she almost let herself caught in the poetical thought of butterflies winging behind their backs. But there were more important matters now…

As they entered the gates of the library in the sheer darkness still: none could produce light, they’d be one easy target, she tried to conceive a believable response for Wes question, but really what could she say, and he was so stoned he’d wouldn’t really care after three seconds. So she did the only thing she thought of, catching his lips in a sloppy fast kiss, it might count as using her “experience” to get out of trouble, but come on it was Wes.

“Candace lets get him seated shall we?” She spelled her name clear and loud as she managed in her whisper, so maybe Wes would catch on it. She directed them towards a distant, sort of hidden table, and helped place the boy there.

“I’m just going to nick…” fuck! “pick some books.” It sounded a plain lie, but it was what came to her mind.

Candace would normally be mad at Wes for forgetting her name, but in this case she would let it slide. Not only was Wes high, but he was also traumatized by the attacks, just like the rest of them. She reached under his arm and gently pulled it over her shoulder. If they had any chance of making it to the library unnoticed Wes would need all the help he could get.

As for the answer to his question, everyone knew Candace spent a fair amount of time in the library studying so it should be an obvious answer, but in reality it was so much more.

She helped Art settle Wes into a chair at a hidden table and thought about what they were going to do.

As Art left to find a book Candace turned to her and asked "Could you grab me a book on healing charms so I can brush up, you know, just in case?"

Candace was determined to be ready, she was not going to be the next victim if she had any say about it.

"Sure!" Art exclaimed too fast and excited, she was a tad bit nervous, she'd never really sneaked into the Restricted area before, it wasn't like she had experience on that matters, and she had no way to cover herself. She assumed she'd have to improvise, like everything tonight.

They couldn't stay there too long, she'd studied the patrolling enough to know that, they checked the library every quarter of hour. A teacher, or Auror would pass by and seek for any clues of students or killer, which could be both... So far they went in a few seconds after the last round, which gave them something around 14 to 16 maybe 17 minutes top, and then off to some common room, she just wouldn't let them go back on their own, nor would she.

She took a hell of a breath and stepped her way to the Restricted area, it was a whole damn new world and she was clueless as in what was she looking for. She walked beside the shelves, and passed her finger over the spine.

"Ancient Runes, ancient runes..."

"You know," Wes said slowly, "The library is open during the day to get books. You don't have to sneak in.." He laughed, because to him, that was actually quite funny. He was happily led to a small table in the corner. He even sat quite placidly, for all of ten seconds, and then Art disappeared. He glanced around and stood up, pulling out his wand.

"Where did she go?" He asked Candace, linking his arm with hers to pull her away from the books down the corridor he'd seen Art head down. He was stoned, and not really sure why on earth they were in the library at gone midnight, but damn if he was going to let Art walk away on her own when there was a killer about. Especially since he was sure the next victim would be a girl.
"Art!" He called in a loud whisper, looking through the books, "Art where'dya go!?"
Subtle, thy name is not Wes!

He didn't know his way around the library. Truly it had nothing for him, he didn't study hard enough to need to spend time there, so aside from getting out the odd book for various subjects and charms, Wes had pretty much avoided the library. So as it was, despite the fact that it was called the Restricted Section, which pretty-much made every rebellious student drool with desire to break into it, Wes had never bothered venturing near. He didn't hesitate pushing open the little gate as the corridor of books led to it, wand held out, arm tightly around Candace's arm, making sure she couldn't get away. No way he was going to let two girls walk around in the dark library alone!
"Art come back!" He demanded, not even sure if she was IN the restricted section.

Candace was not used to Wes grabbing her arm like that and it kinda freaked her out. Did Wes know something she didn't? Was he the killer? If he was, Oh well she was already attached to him.

She followed him into the restricted section, but she knew they were already in trouble and didn't really want to get in any more. She was afraid and decided it was better to be in a group than alone.

She was getting ready to pull Wes out of the library and take him back to her common room when they spotted Art ruffling through the books in the restricted section. Candace couldn't tell what subject she was looking at, but she knew it must be important.

Art had been searching for a while now, walking aisle past aisle, fearing her shadow with every step she took. She knew for sure their time was running out, but she couldn’t just back up, she sort of wondered how long it would be til Wes passed out, or became hyperactive and jump on the table, and what would Candace do when either occurred.

She kept catching odd names from the book’s spine, titles in dead languages and some were even written in runes themselves. She didn’t know what she was looking for exactly, but one book caught her attention, black covered on shimmering red runes, and with one inscription in Latin.

“Nex vadum exsisto sors of formido posterus” Art could make her way around the language, at least to recognize the words “death” and “fortune”. She was pondering on whether to grab it or not when she heard her name called out loud, Wes… She really had something for the boy, but he wasn’t a subtle one was he? Anyway the place was not secure any more; someone would come find them in any second. She looked upon the book and reached for it, hiding it amongst her robes.

Art was already bloody nervous, the next round was about to come, and some teacher would come check the library. Then she saw two silhouettes approaching her, one visibly leaning on the other…fuck! Okay she had underestimated Wes drive and Candace intelligence, but getting caught with stoned boy and studious girl in restricted section, well it wasn’t her aim for the night.

Candace didn't know how to keep Wes quiet and still get out of there without being caught. She would forgo her need for a book tonight and next re-think where she was going when she couldn't sleep.

She had a lot on her mind right now and the last thing she needed was to be caught by an Auror or even a teacher. She knew Wes had been in trouble and that Art didn't want to get in trouble but she had no clue how to get out of this!

She quietly turned to Art and whispered, "If we don't get him out of here we are all in a ton of trouble."

Just as Candace spoke in her hurried tone full of concern and all, Art heard distinct firm steps approaching the aisles. She could have mistook them for the said killer, but whoever he was he didn't strike her as so confident, no the killer would be disturbed and passionate messy with no care for the damages. It was a teacher, certainly a strict teacher, caring to find students out past curfew.

Art grabbed Wes arm again and pulled them both aside, if they had any chance of cheating some teacher they'd have to work together, and be silent, subtle. She made them a sign to follow her, as she stepped delicately over to the aisles, perhaps if they could find a way to mount up the aisles... She was running out of ideas as the steps grew closer, and they walked flat to the numerous books. She eyed Wes in sever manner urging him to stay quiet.

Wes opened his mouth to demand an explanation as to why Art had snuck off and what she wanted in the library that was so desperate it couldn't wait until the morning, but her look silenced him. He listened and made out the sound of approaching footsteps. Shit! A teacher, or Auror or, worst possible, the killer! Any of those options were not good in Wes' book!

In a heartbeat, no matter how befuddled he was on weed, his survival instinct took hold. Well, survival instinct was really just a loose term for 'his ability to avoid getting caught as much as possible' instinct. Wes liked to break rules and push boundaries and play pranks, but he didn't much like the detentions and lectures that came from getting caught. Over the years he'd honed a sense of when and were to run to avoid getting caught in the act, and now that sense was tingling!

He pulled out his wand, dragged a book off the shelf at random and quickly muttered, "Wingardium Leviosa," with a nice swish of his wand. Basic magic, but still good when you needed it. The book levitated up out of his hand and down the aisle away from them, Wes' eyes glued to it. Just as it reached the end of the row, he sharply flicked his wand, sending the book barrellnig off into the library where it crashed against the floor with a heavy thump. The footsteps stopped for a moment, before picking up speed in the direction of Wes' distraction. Perfect! He'd brought them some time!
"Think we could climb these?" He whispered, poking the bookshelf with his wand. The spine of a book closeby caught his attention for a second, black leather with thick silver writing and silver studs. Werewolves.

Wes was a bloody genious in the arts of escaping, and Art would better recall that the next time, even stoned he made a great move, though it only gained them a bit of time.

Whoever it was he was falling for it, as his steped turned the opposite direction, but it still was in their aisle, too close to miss them. Art could almost sense the figure reaching out and ecountering just a thick book, she could almost make out his words and irritated grasp for the pages of said book, almost.

"I can, Candace?" Years of climbing old threes with thin branches had prepared her for such moments, climbing a steady bookshelf with regular intersections was piece of cake! She wasn't too sure Candace would approve it though, but she was in the quidditch team, there had to be potential there.

She was turning around to make her first step up the shelves when she noticed Wes intently staring at a particular book, she could have let it slide off, but he wasn't one for taking interest in books specially when someone was about to catch him. So she followed his sight and mumbled "Werewolves" softly to herself.

She seeked Wes eyes demanding, or asking an explanation, but as their time was out, she shook it off and began climbing the bookshelf, easu task.
