Who: Scorpius and Polly
What: Having a smoke and debunking a rumor.

Scorpius had really been keeping to himself the last week or so, not so much hiding out as making it known to everyone he did not appreciate being stared at in his own House...even if he was burning a pile of bloody clothes in the middle of the stone floor. They had been the clothes he was wearing when he found Lysander's body and he had hardly wanted to keep them around. So why shouldn't he have burnt them? What business was that of anybodies? But here it was, a week later, and people were still glancing frantically back and forth between Scorpius and the small black stain on the floor.

"You people are so plebeian." Scorpius announced to the room as a whole, sweeping it once over with a rather bored expression as he took his usual seat on the sofa by the fire. (Take, being the operative word, as there was a third year occupying it before he shooed them away)

He piled his books haphazardly on the floor beside himself- some part of him intended to study tonight, but it wasn't exactly what one would call an urgent desire.

"You talk big for someone so small." was Scorpius' only response, but he chuckled to himself as he got nearer to the lake. Honestly, he had only even made the comment to bother her but, now that he thought about it, Polly in the lake sounded hilarious.

Scorpius found it hard to believe what a good mood he was it; considering that when he had entered the common-room there may as well have been a dark cloud literally hanging over his head. He allowed himself to grin, just because he could.

There was a small dock sticking out into the lake, where the firstyear boats landed at the beginning of each year and Scorpius walked this to the very end, pausing a moment to give Polly the chance to think about her fate. "Any last words?" He teased, and readjusted his grip to toss her towards the water.

As they got nearer the dock and she then saw that they were on the dock and getting closer to the end Polly really started to think that Scorpius was actually going to toss her in the water. “No no no no no,” she said over and over again and hit him a bit but really what more could she do. She tried to wriggle free but that wasn’t going to happen.

“If you toss me into that lake I will make sure you get pushed in some how.” Polly was not going to let herself getting wet just be brushed off her shoulders. She felt him adjust his hold on her and she was ready to scream if she had too. “Don’t you dare Scorpius don’t you dare or otherwise I will make you pay.” Polly would do everything in her power to get Scorpius in the water or paid back equally for what he was about to do.

Scorpius wasn't really taking Polly's threats seriously. What could she do, really? And so, with one last laugh he took the finally step to the dge of the dock and tossed the little blond Slytherin outwards. He didn't put too much force into it- She was, after all fully dressed so Scorpius didn't want to risk overly deep waters. "Tell me how the water is!" He called, as he opened his hands to release her into the air.

Polly felt him move more and actually did it. Scorpius had tossed her into the water. A loud scream left her as she was tossed from the somewhat safe position of his arms. She felt the water as she hit it, and it was an overall shock to her system. She submerged under the water and bounced back up spluttering a bit before wiping hair from her face that had fallen from the pigtails she was wearing. "You asshole." She said looking up at him as she moved back to the dock. "It is cold you know." She grumbled in an annoyed tone. She was definitely going to make and effort to push or pull Scorpius into the water. She wouldn't care if he took her in with him since she was already wet after all.

"You are going to get it Scorpius." She said as she held onto the dock looking up at him.

Throwing his head back just a bit, Scorpius let out a loud laugh that, in anyone else, might have been a bark, but was somehow softer when it came from him. "Oh, I am, am I?" He quirked a brow, not entirely convinced by her assertion.

He watched Polly make her way back to the dock and couldn't keep from laughing more, softer this time. Robes and blond hair soked, she looked perfectly harmless, and the combination of that and her glare was just perfect.

Shaking his head to try subdue the laughter, Scorpius toed out of his good dress shoes, and sat down to pull off his socks. Was the water cold? He wanted to stick a toe in and see if she was just complaining.

He was profoundly unworried about Polly graping him- Scorpius flashed her a wide and genuine grin as if daring her to try and get him in the water.

"It suits you, you know." He pointed out, gesturing to her wet hair and sopping clothes.

“Yes you are going to get it.” Polly was just not sure how he was going to get it. He had to pay for tossing her into the lake and she was going to make sure he did. Polly pulled herself up out of the water and sat on the dock her legs in the water still. “You are such an asshole, I cannot believe you did that.” She said glaring at him.

Scorpius looked so calm like he had nothing to worry about. She was hoping to make him worried about it because he deserved to get pushed into the lake. Polly pushed Scorpius lightly and glared at him. “Oh so you think I should look like a drowned rat every day?”

"Maybe just a couple times a week," He corrected, nudging Polly with his shoulder. "Wouldn't want to over do it and loose the novelty." He shifted a bit uncomfortably as the water from her clothes began pooling on the dock and running toward where he sat.

"I may be an asshole," Scorpius admitted, flashing Polly one of his most winning smiled, "But you'll forgive me. Think how dull things would be if I wasn't around! eh?"

"Haha very funny," Polly rolled her eyes at him. She watched as he shifted and shifted a little closer to him, she was going to get him wet one way or another be it just from sitting next to her or completely submerged in water.

"Make things interesting, well maybe but I don't count being tossed into a lake interesting." Polly said and pushed him and little harder. "I think you just need to be pushed into the water and make this an even situation." Polly said pulling her feet out of the water stood up slowly moving to get behind Scorpius just to give him a helpful nudge.

"Whats fun about even?" Scorpius grinned, "It sounds much too similar to 'fair,' and no one wants that!" He wasn't really paying attention to Polly and as she stood up he looked down at his down damp side with a bit of a grimace.

When Polly pushed him from behind Scorpius really could have stopped her, if he had put in the effort but at it was he allowed himself to be propelled forward, but twisted as the last moment to grab Polly off the dock and pull her back into the water with him.

"You bitch!" He spluttered, a smile stretching over his whole face "You complete and utter, bitch!"

Just as Polly was about to say, 'that is what is fun about even', she felt his hand on her and she was being pulled in after him. She had not expected that which caused another yelp from her lips as she fell into the water. If anything this time it was more shocking as she had not been expecting it at all.

She came back up and looked at Scorpius with a very smug look on her face. "That was so much fun!" She laughed as she moved closer to him. "And you totally deserved it." Polly reached out and ruffled his wet hair. "Don't you look cute all wet like that."
