The night is my companion, solitude my guide...
Who: Louella & OPEN!
When: Morning; Feb 5th.
Where: After breakfast, bibliothèque.
What: Heading toward the Library. Lou is really irritated by the fact that Valentines is around the corner, and everyone is fussing.
Rating: "R"!!!! (Just kidding! ;3)
Status: IN progress!

Soft pattering echoed through the hall, heading toward the library. Hands wrapped around four or five books, holding them tightly into her petite frame. Louella moved with haste, as they were quite heavy. She made no time for chitter chatter on the way there, basically ignoring every acknowledgment she received while heading toward the room. The books were heavy for merlin's sake! She couldn't stand to be social for five minutes, and still hold them. After all, these books were supported against her stomach. It would take quite some time alone for the pressure to cease after setting them down, anyway. Holding the books to communicate to fellow students would only make the pain last twice as long.

She did not run, but was definitely comparable to the speed of a "swift rabbit". One could even suggest superhuman powers, but that wasn't hardly the case. Finally making it into the room, Louella's excitement and ache, meshed with adrenaline, allowed her to run to the nearest table and set the books down upon it. A soft thud sounded off in the room, causing the occasional eye to drift in her direction. Was she sorry for the interuptions? HELL NO! Once the pressure from her stomach was removed, Lou moved over to the chair, panting softly with her body sprawled out upon it. Oh how good it felt, to accomplish such a physical challenge as the one she just triumphed over. Seriously, she wasn't anyone's bitch. When people used to tell her to run, she'd merely scoff in their face. She'd much rather see YOU do it. However, impressed with herself, she regained her proper stature, pulling the first book close to her.

Opening the cover and flipping a few pages, she found herself distracted by what sounded like excessive flirting. Desperate girls were quite a nuisance to society, ESPECIALLY in a LIBRARY for merlin's sake! The soft giggles, muffled with the female's hand (as if she knew where she was, and tried to prevent any noise from exhaling) really didn't help matters much. Very expressive her in face, Louella threw her neck back, laying against the back of the chair. "This bitch has some nerve!" She thought to herself, offering seven or eight shots with her evil eye at the two. The female was gorgeous. Blonde, blue-eyed. 5'8'', curvy in all the right places. The type you just WANT to kill. Louella could tell she was probably the stereotypical bimbo, whom flaunted her sex appeal for good grades. Something Lou would never do, in a million bajillion years.

Oh, she was irritated. Finally when the noise settled, she went back to reading the material once more. However, before getting half a page in, the blonde haired female started again! This time, there was a roar to her laughter, and a soft mentioning of the male's name. Obviously a younger student.

" Oh, Nick! Stopppp! " Said the blonde female, playing with her hair.

Louella threw her body back once more, slamming the cover of the book as she did so. This time, her form was angled right at the two. Sure, she was human. Valentines was around the corner. Chocolates were good. Studying was more important! She wanted nothing more than to go over there, and tell her she was ugly, fat and the guy she was hitting on was totally playing her. However, she didn't. No, Louella always kept her tongue bit.

Let me assure you, it's red, and quite swollen.

The library wasn't Jacquelyn's favorite place to be, but she had a free period after breakfast and D.A.D.A homework to get done before her next class. Procrastination is one of life's only sins... or so her father liked to say. Talk of sin had never gotten very far with Jacquelyn, especially when that talk originated with her father.

So here she found herself sliding through the tables with her bag slung over her shoulder and a book sweet talked out of the restricted section clutched in her arm, trying to avoid the small pockets of twits who thought the library the ideal place to pick up on mates... really? The library. Personally, Jacquelyn couldn't see spending that much time with a bloke who spent that much time in the library but to each their own... the trick was finding someplace to sit that wasn't infested by giggling.

Ahh... a safe haven. Well, safeish. Jacquelyn saw Lou sitting up ahead... a very frustrated Lou. Jacquelyn wasn't too sure Lou was safe, but she'd likely not be infected by the idiocy running rampant. Slipping in behind the aggravated house-mate, Jacquelyn dropped her voice to a low murmur as she slid the chair back.

"Oh, Nick! Stopppppp!" she mocked, adding in a high pitched giggle before dropping her tone back to normal. "I think I might vomit!"

Lou almost had a fit, collapsing against the table. It wasn't until she met with her eyes set on Jac, coming close to her. Those deep blue eyes rolled against her eyelids, as she knew that she had witnessed the noises of the animalistic tendency for girls to find mates. Something that sickened Lou to her core. Especially, appearing so vulnerable and weak as the female did. To the one called Nick, who really looked as if he was experiencing the worse side effects of the teenage years.

"Aheehehehehehehehehehe," Louella said to Jac, almost synchornized with her own high pitched giggle fit. " Oh, you said it for the two of us. " She said sorrowfully, covering her ears two books. " A WOMAN is try-ing to STUDY! " She said out loud, her eyes on the pair, but her direction toward Jacquelyn. " I've had it up to MERLIN'S HEAD, dealing with these two. It sickens me to hear desperate girls, try out to compete for equally desperate boys. PUH-LEASE. That's so 2nd year. " She rolled her eyes once more, patting her yawn, before clutching the back of her chair. Her body, now fully positioned toward her.

" I mean, a girl was KILLED. Sure, I don't really care. blood, death, pain, it's all the same. But the nerve, of those two... to watch that pathetic little ravenclaw run out for attention.... and already, the breeding pool has commenced. Typical! " She already seemed to get the attention of the two, who found themselves migrating out of the library anyway. Silence was back in order, and chaos was finally put to rest.

Her gaze danced around the other female, before quirking an eyebrow. A classic expression, one that would indicate that this female, Lou, was rather shocked. " Oh, so you read much? " She implied, never taking the time til today to notice the female in the library. " Sounds like a good cult... " she said to herself softly, before murmuring the next line even quieter.

" Yes... a cult.. of readers.. "

Jacquelyn was in complete sympathies. The library was a place to study and this was downright disgusting... besides, the girls who threw themselves at the boys now would find themselves quite lonely later.

"I am literate... yes" she quipped, raising a brow in return for Lou's shocked expression. "I prefer to do my reading elsewhere usually because of the noise here... but you know how it is..." she raised up the restricted volume. "But since we are here..."

Slipping her wand out of her sleeve, Jacquelyn gave Louella an evil grin. "This is the library is it not? It should be quiet..." She had worked out a reverse of Muffliato (which still sounded more like food than a spell but whatever). Rather than muffling your own conversation, you muffled everyone elses.

"Shocking." She said, realizing the girl had the capabilities to read. It really wasn't a surprise, sure. However, her reaction made it more than what it quite was. " I do, however... the majority of the time I can manage to multi task. After all, listening and remaining quiet to listen to the gossip of others is entertaining. You would be surprised. " She said, offering a soft grin. Yes, it was something Lou did -- but, could you blame her?

She was an anti-social bitch, and really found little to no words when not addressed to. Usually, people whisper what she was thinking anyways, and instead of her mouth running it -- she merely repeats what said person has said about someone. She definitely enjoys the gossip. Not much else she could do.

" Definitely. " She said, watching Jac perform magic in front of her, like she was seeking attention, or appraisal for doing the spell. Louella merely made the gesture of clapping, the tips of her fingers tapping lightly against the heart line in her palm. Sarcastic nodding of approval was added, and Lou was added a conniving grin.

" Better? " She asked, taking the book from the table and dropping it against her thighs, supporting the weight of the large text book with her heels perched against the leg of the chair. Her own body forming somewhat of a modified triangle. " What is it you will be attempting, I mean, reading today? " She asked, plopping her arms on top of the loose pages, fidgeting with her fingers.

Conversing was such an awkward thing for her.

Jacquelyn had to fight not to rise to the bait but merely nodded. "I would be less surprised than you think... I just prefer to do my multitasking in the Common room. I can not imagine hearing much of interest amidst all this."

She slid back a chair and took a seat herself, crossing her legs demurely and resting the book carefully on the table, accepting Lou's mocking gesture with a smile and a slight bow. Let the girl think she was stupid enough to take her at face value... really, it would work to Jacquelyn's advantage in the end.

"Much better." Jacquelyn opened the book, its musty pages soft with rustling and the scent of herbs, spices, musks, oil... Potions ingredients from the Near East. "Oh... I'm attempting a bit of a project for Potions... a rather tricky potion that hasn't been seen here in several decades. It originally hails from Malaysia... well Kuala Lumpur to be specific..."

It was fun to pretend that the other girl actually cared...

No, Louella really couldn't give a flying merlin's butt, but hey.. she was attempting to actually show some sign of compassion. Running her fingers through her hair, she let her fingers slide back down afterwards, landing safely back against the pages in her book. " The common room... sounds like a lot of fun... " She rolled her eyes, releasing her feet from forming the triangle. She was attempting to show signs with her body language not to really wish to talk to Jac any longer.

However, she remained cordial, moving her book to the desk first, still sitting facing toward her direction. " Oooh. Sounds challenging. I hope you have everything you'll need. And the practice to make it, as well. Perhaps you might consider enlisting on the help of others. I'm unsure whether or not you'd be able to handle such a powerful sounding spell. Especially with the fact that it hasn't been done in decades. " Louella said, cocking her head to the side a bit. She was unsure how the female would react. After all, she did sort of present a verbal challenge for Jac.

Louella's nose was hit with the scents of all sort of herbs, spices and oils. Her sense of smell was strong. Her eyes lit up, and she coffed, covering her mouth. " God, that smells fruity. " She said, exhaling with a soft whine at the end of the last released carbon dioxide. Certainly, it didn't smell like oranges and strawberries, and cherries. It was placing the term fruity with another conotation.

She smiled at Jac, turning her body toward the table with every inching minute of silence.

It was times like these that Jacquelyn truly thought that Louella was off her sodding rocker. Jacquelyn was getting the impression that Lou would rather chew ground glass than talk to her, but she'd asked. Jacquelyn would be perfectly happy to read her book and take notes on the potion she was working on...

But then again, Louella showed interest. Jacquelyn turned slightly, her brow rising with each challenging word. "..." She opened her mouth slightly and closed it again, biting her lip. Displays of temper got you nowhere. Still, she couldn't keep the flush from creeping up her throat, blushing her cheeks and pinking the tips of her ears as Jacquelyn tamped down the anger.

The silence lingered. Jacquelyn wouldn't speak until she was sure she could control what she was going to say. The moment had almost passed... Louella drawing back into her own little isolation yet again. Finally, Jacquelyn pulled out a pen-knife and took a few slivers off her quill, blowing the slivers and the dust across the pages and into Louella's face.

"Thank you for that advice Louella..." she said sweetly, her smile quite frozen on her face as the other girl suffered through the cloud of musky old book. "Maybe you'd like to help... I could help you I'm sure..." after all, while a challenge, it wasn't as hard as all that.
