It had been a long time since Mark had been hurt like that, and even then Elijah and her hunters hadn't managed to push him quite that close to death as he'd gotten over the weekend. A few broken bones and bruises had been easily healed. The burns he'd sustained over the weekend were something else entirely, it was likely only because he was a wolf that he survived it if he was being honest. But better him than a human who wouldn't be able to heal quite so readily from all of this.
Even still Mark was still tender, his skin tender and sensitive as it repaired itself little by little, the ache of it bone deep. He'd spent the first few days after the battle at the beach knocked out as often as he could get away with. Letting his body heal itself when he didn't have to be awake to feel it happening.
Today though he was awake more than he had been previously, enough that he was sure whatever had been done wouldn't leave a lasting mark anywhere but on his ego. And maybe on Lux's guilt complex, but he'd do what he could to make sure she knew he didn't blame her for what happened.
"Hey," he rasped, stretching an arm out and wincing at the feeling of new skin stretching with the motion as he reached for Gordo, "Come here."
