"Yeah?" He asked, an easy grin on his face as Clint assured him he was good at boats. "And how are you with fishing?" He asked, as if he had any great fishing skills himself. But it was just an easy fun sort of thing to do, whiling a way a few hours and goofing off while Hopper did all the real work of the fishing.
It was strange in a way, to find a little bit of peace knowing all it had taken was to be entirely removed from what his life had been. It probably said a lot about his potential to actually make anything lasting back home, but Matt wasn't going to think about that - instead he was just going to enjoy the pleased sighs he could draw out of Clint at moments like these.
"I know what you mean," He admitted, of course he'd gotten into law to try and solve the problems he'd been all too aware of through the system, but he'd known even then there was only so much he could do about it that way. And the same seemed to be true here, even with the more senior position he now held within the system. "It's not like things are perfect here," But it was different in many ways.
"It was easier to do all of that when it was people I was dealing with, not..." He lifted a shoulder, not monsters. Not like what they'd had to deal with for months on end here.
