Nancy's eyes had slowly widened as Ken rolled into the spiel about how he had become who he was now. She did not want to appear as if she were taken aback with so much information but he was quite detailed about how things were for him. Part human, part ghoul. It had made little sense to her, but she was interested in knowing more about Ken.
Her hand shifted up to rest atop his shoulder as they swayed. "I'm sorry, did you say that he tried to eat you?" It had her stumbling as well as her feet missed a step. But he was quick to react, holding and lifting her back onto her feet. "That is quite the story."
She lifted her head to meet his eyes. "And you? Would you let it inflate your ego too?"
