It had been a long day, and was turning into an even longer night. Despite the fact that Ezreal was with her, Lux couldn't sleep. Her ears were throbbing, the little creams from the store having rubbed off on her pillow as she tossed and turn, and her hand itched. It was already healing of course, which is why it was itching, but it was still driving her a little nuts. Plus, there were all the fun aftereffects of facing your worst fears in the form of some nice mental stress.
All in all, she was not a really big fan of it. Sliding out from her space next to Ezreal, she made her way to the bathroom and decided a nice bath was what she needed. If she thought about it more, she might be wondering if she could get back to Boo'Ya moon, to see the beautiful lake and feel it heal her distress away again. She had thought about asking Ezreal for the moonstone treatment he had done before but settled for something she thought about when she'd spoken to Filip about it. He'd fallen asleep in the bath and gotten there.
She was planning on falling asleep, but once she was in the slightly warm water - not too hot because that felt bad on her ears too - but warm enough to be comfortable, Lux felt herself easily slipping into an unsteady sleep. The water was purposefully lower than she might have had it otherwise, just in case. Sleeping in bathtubs was sort of dangerous, after all. It was just minutes of the warmth and the floating feeling of being in water, and she found herself standing on the outskirts of the lake, the moon hanging low over it.
Not believing her luck for a minute, Lux took a careful step forward, glancing around. As before, there were people - dreamlike, serene, and a whisper about the long boy, again with the slightly perturbed expression on their faces. Otherwise, it was as calming as the first time she had been here. Wasting no time, Lux walked towards the water. The others disappeared, and she found herself utterly alone.
No sooner was she at the water's edge, she had tossed the last bit of her clothing aside and slid into the cool waters. It was never too cold or too warm, it was always just perfect. The temperature of the beautiful summer's night in complete balance with the coolness of the water. As she slid in, the itch in her hand disappeared. She could tell it was healing, she knew it now. Sliding underneath the surface, she felt the burn in her ears ease away.
Best of all, the fear washed away from her and the distress she had been feeling was all but gone. This place was real, it wasn't just some weird dream she had when she had had that... attack or whatever it had been, before. This place was very real and it was literally healing her. Lux felt the thrill of the discovery, and it felt nearly as good as the moonlight and the water did on her bare skin. She wanted to tell Ezreal as soon as she woke up -
But a part of her, too, wanted to keep this place for herself.
It was selfish of course. This place was beautiful and calming, and it actually healed injuries. She should have told him about it, no matter how far-fetched she had felt it to be at the time, so his ribs could have healed faster. She should tell everyone about it. There was no harm in it, right? But what if it didn't work that way? What if more people would come here, and they would run into each other? How could she ever slip into the water this way, to feel its healing power, if others were there too? Watching?
No, it would be better to keep this quiet. To herself. She didn't want to leave it at all, to wake up and have to think about what she would tell Ezreal, how much of this experience would she share? Should she tell Mark? He, at least, wouldn't need this place. He healed faster than anyone she had ever known.
If she kept it to herself, it would remain how it was. She liked its mysteries. Of course, the more she thought about the mystery, the more she wanted to know, too. Like Ezreal, Lux couldn't deny she had adventure in her heart as well. If he could come with her, perhaps they could explore it together - and if they were careful, it wouldn't even throw off the perfect balance of this place. Maybe they could find out more about the long b-
Before she was really ready for it, Lux woke up abruptly in the bath, a slight gasp from being startled. Ezreal's voice on the other side of the door told her that he had noticed she was gone. "I'll be out in a minute!" She called, her voice holding a slightly off but still good-natured tone. She'd wanted to stay there, coming back to reality was harsh. The warm water now was cold against her skin as she moved, and shivered. She was covered in goosebumps. Ezreal was saying something about breakfast, and the calm, unbothered, and natural tone of his voice meant that he had slept through the night, and somehow, she had spent hours at the lake instead of the few minutes she'd thought she'd been there.
Frustrated, she sighed - longing to stay in the bath and go back there, but knowing she shouldn't. Not now, anyway. "Breakfast sounds great..." She called instead, resigned to start her day.
