WHO: Grace Rojas
WHEN: This morning.
WHERE: The bathroom!
SUMMARY: Grace reflects on the past 24 hours and searches for meaning. She hasn't seen FB. ;)
WARNINGS: N/A
Grace froze with a tooth brush halfway to her mouth. Not again. There, in the mirror, it was like she saw Diego several feet beneath her sprawled on iron latticework, crumpled and bloody. She felt the hot sting of tears dart in and cloud her vision but, with another wave of heat, she knew that she had to climb on and reach their objective. Blinking several times, Grace cleared the vision from her gaze and rammed the tooth brush in her mouth. If only these visions lead to good memories. But she knew, the more she learned of Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor, the more she wanted to do nothing but sit and cry. She knew that they didn’t have time. She knew their love was fledgling and the light ended it. The Star Killer. But it was something she had chosen, willfully, to leave to the ambiguities of her own mind. The news, however, of a group of them left her plan in shambles. And Grace knew she shouldn’t have been surprised. As a scientist – or a budding one, at any rate – she knew that did not simply vanish. She knew it always found somewhere to go. And she’d read enough Carl Sagan to understand that energy could cross dimensions. She knew that their reality was a facet of many realities. But this was all so close. Charlie and Medhi and Finn and Diego … She spat in the sink and wiped her mouth on the towel nearby, letting her mind reach into the connections they were forging. Into the energy they, together, could build. This couldn’t be meaningless. There had to be a reason they were all bound together. It couldn’t be chance. |
