Beefy interns were always the answer. So was Float, as the girls would probably be soon to figure out. Upper body strength had its merits but she vaguely remembered a saying to the effect of, the meek (and magical!) would inherit the planet. Red didn't care to be corrected if she was wrong. With the last of her equipment loaded she was about to give the cart a cursory push when Rydia uttered three of the most beautiful words in existence. Right up there with 'I love you' which, regrettably, she had never quite gotten around to hearing outside of her parents when she was younger. With age came the resounding choruses of GO TO YOUR ROOM. Totally deserved in most cases, but still.
"You can drive?" it may have come out like a question initially, but she was quick to correct herself. "I mean, of course you can drive! That would be great. I just figured, you know, with fuel emissions and petrol being made from fossilized animals ... never mind. I lost my train of thought." Didn't want to talk Rydia out of it now. "You just earned a considerable raise! Not that I can afford to pay you right now. Extra stock options when the company goes live? Anyway, the time for pushing is now! On the count of three, okay? One, two and --"
Was that the sound of her spine cracking in half? Red felt pretty sure that was the sound of her spine cracking in half.
