If I get busy then I couldn't care less what you do Who: Setzer and Kadowaki and OPEN Where: Cafeteria When: Early evening Warnings: None, for now :D
"Hey! That's not fair!"
Setzer rested his chin on top of his folded hands, smirking. "What's not fair?"
The girl across from him huffed, staring down at the cards between them. "You - you cheated! You had to!" She was a sweet, naive little thing, a few years younger than him, who had fancied a game of Triple Triad. He was never one to turn down a game, and the fact that she had a pretty impressive deck left him with a bit of a challenge. Still, Setzer lived for the thrill of it all, and once he started running his mouth, it wasn't like he was about to back down. Some of the new cards he'd gotten from Celes were helping in that respect, too. A little beat up on the sides, but not too rough, enough to where the girl hadn't even noticed that they were new until he flipped them over.
"I never cheat," he said, holding up a finger, "that is a promise." And you should learn not to play games with a card shark like me. Yes, Setzer was a gentleman, in every respect, but just because she was a girl didn't mean he was going to let her win. "Now, let's see... ah! This one." He reached over to pluck her Ifrit card from her stack. "This prize will do nicely."
"That took me forever to get!"
"That's all part of the game, sweetie," Setzer shot back, grinning. "You can always try to win it back, you know."
She scowled at him, grabbing her bag as she stood up. "Next time, Gabbiani." And with that she stormed off, leaving Setzer by himself at the table. All in all, it had been a good day, and the game had been a welcome distraction from all that Mognet crap. Sure, Setzer logged on there every once in a while, but he really wasn't a troll, and was a lurker much more than an active participant. Besides, Edea Kramer had been a sorceress once, and Setzer didn't want to know if she could still do magic. Didn't they realize - or remember - what she might be capable of? He'd rather not find out for himself.
Then there was all that stuff about the Cultivators on the news... yeah, Setzer was done. He just didn't want to think about all of that right now, so he didn't. Cards were so much easier. Gathering up his things, he glanced around the cafeteria. Maybe he should get some food before heading off.
