Suburra: Angelica/Nadia
Several months after Spadino vanishes, Angelica appears at the amusement park. "I thought you wanted to forget about this," Nadia says. "About us," Nadia doesn't say.
Angelica shrugs. Her hand traces the back of Nadia's chair. Nadia almost feels her ring on her neck. "I always loved parks. Kids don't have to worry about anything here, at least for a while."
Nadia watches, remembering how regal Angelica always seemed. How she'd felt like a queen beside her.
"Have you heard from your husband?" Nadia asks, to be cruel.
"Prego, cara. You know he doesn't want to be found."
"And you?"

Angelica understands, but feigns confusion, forcing Nadia to ask again. "You. Do you want to be found?"
"By some people, yes. Others, no."
Nadia always wore her heart on her sleeve, tough as she pretended to be, and Angelica knows this isn't the answer she wanted. She takes mercy on her." Manfredi wanted to marry me off to one of his goons. When I refused, he locked me in our room."
Nadia looks shocked, as if this didn't happen all the time in Sinti families. Angelica laughs. "So I stole his ring and ran away. And I'm not going back."

"Where will you go?" asks Nadia. It's on the tip of her tongue to offer Angelica a bed, a home, a ring…but she pulls back. Being too eager, too open, that's what complicated things with Aureliano.
"Well," says Angelica, "seeing as my husband was in love with your boyfriend and your boyfriend died to protect my husband, you're the closest thing to family I have now. So I thought…"
"Yes," Nadia nods. "I mean, if you're thinking you might stay with me a while…"
"Yes." Angelica beams, her smile lighting up the dark booth. "That's exactly what I was thinking."
