The Hunger Games - Katniss & Annie
Annie walks the halls of the Capitol’s most hated building. She has feared these corridors for so much of her life that it can’t be wiped away with just this one victory.
She finds Katniss alone.
“You’re to play executioner?” She asks, her voice little more than a whisper.
Katniss looks at her, all her feelings clear on her expressive face. She looks gaunt, even old. Annie takes her hand. “This was a monstrous victory,” she says, “The Capitol taught us that all victors must be monsters. But I don’t believe it. I don’t want to be a monster anymore.”
