Chryseis
Chryseis grew up hearing the stories of Apollo, both beautiful and terrible. She had always loved visiting her father, a priest at Apollo's temple. There he would take her into the sanctum to hear the music of his acolytes, but he would also tell her the fates of Apollo's enemies. Marsyus, who outshined the god, Laomedon and his destroyed city.
Chryseis thinks of these mortals as the plague spreads. Each day claims the lives of more rats, more dogs, more men. Agamemnon may lead these Greeks, but doesn't he know how puny men are in the face of the gods.
