The Magicians (Quentin/Eliot/Margo, Alice)
From the moment Alice saw Margo and Eliot, she knew she would hate them. They stalked through Brakebills as if it was their private estate and the other students were their hired help. She especially hated how they had latched onto Quentin, the only person who had been nice to her since she arrived. They had circled him like predators, and Quentin - well, Quentin was nice through and through. He didn't see what she saw in them.
And then she'd been placed in the Physical Kids' Cottage, and Quentin had come along, and there was no escaping them.
Honestly, she wasn't even that surprised when it happened. Eliot was basically Quentin's shadow, constantly beside him, constantly finding reasons to touch him like he was a pet. And Margo, sex just seemed to roil off her as soon as she entered a room. Quentin seemed oblivious to what anyone could see was their obvious interest. Alice wasn't that naïve.
So no, Alice was not surprised that morning when she went looking for Quentin and found the three of them naked in Eliot's big bed, wrapped up in sheets and each other. And now she hated all three of them.
