Peace came to Florin after Prince Humperdinck’s abdication, but peace can be long and dull, so Westley and Buttercup were pleased to see old friends approaching their cottage.
“You’ll never guess what’s happened,” Inigo exclaimed. “The two of us got married.”
“We knew it was true love,” Fezzik chimed in, flashing his gold wedding band, “so we said, ‘Why tarry?’”
Westley looked dumbstruck, but Buttercup smiled graciously. “We’re thrilled for you both. But we’re sorry we missed the wedding.”
“We couldn’t get married in Guilder.” Inigo leaned in and whispered, “We’re gay.”
“Really?” Fezzik rolled his eyes. “You don’t say?”
