The Mauritania is a ghost ship.

Launched in 1938, it's been decades since she sailed the oceans, and yet the doors of Passages open onto the night-darkened deck of a ship that is barely afloat. She tilts, she lurches, and she is cobweb-lined from her deserted bridge to her silent deck. There is no land to be sighted from any railing, and no light save that from the stars overhead. The promenade winds around the upper level in ominous silence, and haunting music can be heard beyond the doors that lead into the ship's interior.

Promenade; Elevator: It's a curious thing, this ghost ship's elevator. Opulent and splendid, it takes up the entire center of the grand entrance, and it is meant to carry passengers down into the belly of the ship. But it doesn't work just right. Sometimes, the elevator drops impossible lengths. Sometimes, the elevator stops altogether for hours at a time. Yet somehow it's always empty and awaiting new passengers.

First Class; Baths: The upper-level, with its height and distance from the ocean, feels safe and bright. Classical music can be heard in these halls, though there is no orchestra and the ballroom is ominously dark. Laughter leads passengers to the one mostly-lit area in first class, where a swimming bath leads to smaller, more private Turkish bath. The lights here are quiet, flickering and barely there, and shadows dance elusively in the depths of the pool, while ghostly laughter can be heard in the private bath stalls.

Second Class; Theater: Down a level, the second-class floor is louder than the elite first-class floor. Here the air is thick with cigar smoke, and glasses can be heard clinking from the open doors to the smoking room. But it's the theater that draws passengers on this floor. It is cramped and entirely dark, save for the monochrome film on the screen, hauntingly devoid of sound, where a collection of terrifying collages and darkly sexual imagery fill the screen.

Third Class; Dining: Claustrophobic stairs lead down to the narrow passages of the cramped third-class rooms, where the air is heavy and thick, and where the lights flicker and cast the hall into windowless darkness. Here, the ghostly gears of the engine room can be heard sputtering dangerously, and the sensation of the ship's tilting is most pronounced. At the end of the hall, the dining area gives the illusion of windows where none exist. Chairs are pushed aside to allow for dancing to soulful and intimate music, while ocean water teases shoes and heels.

Like it or not, she was inclined to acknowledge the man’s circumstantially-charming nature as he flashed her a grin and paddled his way over in the deep end, bright green eyes igniting through the dim lighting that spanned the length of ceiling overhead. And so she smiled coyly, one corner of her sweet-puckered mouth lifting into a smile that matched the brightness of her own personal execution.

“I’m guessing,” she began, all rough-and-tumble voice lilting into something sideways that her nobility forced into sweetness, and oh how she glanced at the crown and cloak that lay abandoned, off to the side and rife with sour supplementation. “That you’re smart enough to appreciate your own luck, hmm? To find yourself with some purpose, all sweet and seduction? Personally, I would have kept the crown in place.”

And Hedwig did naught but tug her pale-blonde wig back into place on her head, a solid grin widening into something altogether more seductive. For a moment the other man’s worship seemed appropriate, ducking under the water to tug her pointed stilettos from her feet so that she could kick out, fluttering through the water in her tight leather pants. “Looks like you’re right,” she cut out of thin air, sharp teeth arcing through something that resembled reality as a prince handled her own bare feet. “It’s so much easier to frolic without the Louboutins. Let’s keep going, shall we?”

One smirk and she wrapped her hands in the hem of her cropped-top shirt, tugging it over her own head without ceremony and flinging it to some far corner of the baths. Left in her leather pants and a jewel-encrusted bra, she tread water with a spark that burned somewhere under her sternum. “Sweetheart,” she murmured, feet-fluttering so that she could pull that much closer through the water. “I am the party.”

He glanced back at the crown, noting that she had as well. It was a part of him, privilege and wealth, a necessity of show. "I don't really call it luck, although I would never trade that life. I don't see the need to have that horrible heavy thing always in place, especially when I want to indulge in other offers. Don't consider it a lack of appreciation, rather than a place of convenience while I do other things." His smile was cool and confident, while light at the same time.

He watched as she removed clothing, hovering ever closer. The jewel bra drew his eyes to her chest, his finger traced along the edge of the bra, "Now that is art in fashion," he hummed, inspecting the gems and the contents underneath. "All real. Perhaps I am lucky. The party came to me, but I am still ahead of you." Nothing but underwear remained on him, and prior to her arrival, he had been considering losing them too. Although he considered it even more now, he wanted to see what he was getting for the final trade.

"Leather is heavy, not that I don't appreciate the way you look in them, or the way you will look out of them. Let's do keep going."
