I see. Oh, now I remember. No, there was no conversation, just a message I never got a response to. I don't even know if she saw it. I don't think Neil is 'shacking up' with her, however. [A sigh.] ...I wish I could say I'm surprised he paid for your hospital bills, but I'm not. He's trying to manipulate you and seem like a good, squeaky clean human being. I'll point out that an innocent man wouldn't be likely to take this much interest in our family, certainly not to the point of paying your bills and bailing out Joey. [A swallow.] He also wouldn't have been so dramatic as to send you a package telling you that he bailed Joey out of jail if he didn't want it to have a sharp impact. A normal person - a person with good intentions, they would have simply called, or let Joey tell you. No, there is no doubt in my mind that he is only trying to manipulate you by pretending to be kind. He's not even doing a good job of hiding it. Don't let him fool you, alright?
