Once we begin our quest we do not dare to change the path that is set under our feet. One small change in the path of the quest alter so many things. One misstep.. Just a small step to the side changes so many courses, think of it like a rock placed in the middle of a stream will cause the water to flow around it instead of in its course and perhaps floods the homes of people that live beside it.
We know where four of the palantir lie. One is with Saruman, One is with Denathor, and the enemy holds the Ithil stone. I think Gandalf told Pippin that one is in our very own Tower Hills but that only looks west over the sea. It was on the boat when we sailed from the Gray Havens. Where would the last three be?
