Nothing like the Holidays to remind you that you can't stand your family. I almost think that I would have found a way to avoid visiting my parents entirely, if it wouldn't have meant keeping their granddaughter from them. How does the rest of the world refrain from losing their minds this time of year?

[Locked to Alexis K - after a couple weeks of throwing himself into his work, Dallas finds that he just can't help himself.]

Are you doing okay after [...] everything? I've been worried about you.

Against my better judgement, yeah. At least this way they won't expect me back for Christmas.

I don't think the little hellion would ever forgive me if I went without her. She is a fiend for pony rides.

You have no idea what you've just gotten yourself into. Thanks, regardless. [...] It's the sort of thing her mother would have come up with. I think it'll be good for her.

you're probably right. i don't know. but i'm willing to risk it. as long as she doesn't call me mommy, i think we'll be fine.

Well, I can predict lots of high-pitched squealing and the four-year-old equivalent of expletives.

My schedule's pretty flexible around the holidays, so we can work around yours.

Loras would like me to inquire after Renly.

I'll take the loss if it means not going home.

Don't most people drink? Isn't that the true meaning of Christmas?

The first and last time I got drunk was in college, and I ended up locking myself in a laundry room and crying because I couldn't remember all the words to a Fleetwood Mac song. I'm not eager to repeat that particular scenario.

I don't know, "A Night in Dallas" has a certain ring to it.

You must forgive me. I grew up in a very masculine world. My only sister could put an Iranian in an arm lock if she wanted to.

I only have myself to blame. Apparently a lifetime of doing hard labor on a pig farm just didn't stick. I think I cried more during Toy Story 3 than my daughter has in the entire four years she's been alive.

That's because the third movie wasn't written for her. It was designed to make adults feel guilty they threw their old toys away and pine for a more innocent time of teddy bears and action figures. You were played by the Pixar emotional machine, friend.

That explains the Pixar marathon that played on every network channel the night before Black Friday. Greedy bastards. I might as well just mail them my savings.

If she's to get any more playtime, I'll have to set up house in the Magic Kingdom.
