I don't think you should keep your distance, no. I think he needs to learn to face his fear eventually. I get the sense that he's been running a long time. I like him, but that will be a bar to entry, if he can't conquer it.
I know. And he said as much. It is, admittedly, difficult not to be discouraged when two intended meetings in a row end in him fleeing the scene, but I'm giving him another chance, God help me.
