In the end, he died to be with Juliet. He was not so caught up in the war to not love her or to turn her away for being a Capulet. In literary sources, a marriage between warring parties was often used in an attempt to bring peace.
Robin Hood, anti hero or not, I would not call more honest than Darcy. Darcy is at least honest to the reader about his flaws. The peace that Robin Hood seeks is not a ceasefire of conflict between those that abuse their power with those that have none, but the eradication of those that would disabuse what their wealth gives them. Calling him a hero is a romantic notion -- calling him an antihero is far more honest.
Darcy has none at the beginning of the book. His desire to have Elizabeth, possess her as you've said causes the conflict within him. It's not until he reconciles his heart with his mind that he achieves any sort of peace.
Beowulf... True. But we're not talking about Beowulf's society, we're talking about Beowulf. His culture valued war, warriors were accorded the highest of all honours. However, peace, however tenuous, short or in word only, usually comes after war.
I'm Benjamin, you may call me Ben. It is a pleasure to meet you, Maren. I've cut more than my fingers on books.
