I'm not as lacking in empathy as what I became last night was. I don't decide who lives and who dies based upon my own judgments. I strive to be the exact opposite of what I was, and there is more than just a line separating that thing from me. Someone once told me that it's what we do that defines us, and I believe that. It's a matter of good outweighing the desires we keep in check. As you said, it is a choice, and our choices make us who we are. That free will being taken away from us is nothing short of manipulation.
