Any chess players? I seem to have lost my partner.

Depends if you're wanting a good chess player or simply a chess player.

Lost is perhaps a strong word, my friend, I believe I've only been misplaced.

So it seems, though I'm not quite certain why. No one is particularly concerned over that fact however, so I'm resigning no to fret.

Why? The question is how do we get out.

There are other things to fret over.

Certainly! I do wonder what the situation is like [...] back home. But also this man whose head I'm mucking about in as well. His mental state is very worrisome.

Have you not gone yet?

They are all worrisome. to be bound into a man who I must follow-- How far are you into his mind?

I have learned of the doors from this man, but he is very reluctant to do much else other than drink himself into unconsciousness.

It is as if I'm simply touching his mind with my own. I can read his thoughts, push through the barrier of his mental defenses to a degree, but I have yet been unwilling to try much else. His mind has been through something very traumatic, it's fragile. I don't wish to harm him further.

Because do as the rest of us do and wait for him to talk to you. Not everyone wants someone in their mind, Charles.

He was fine with the first inhabitant.

Some people also need the help of a friend, and I can't be helpful if I don't know the problem. [...] Yet, time heals. Perhaps I can convince him to move through the door, if only for a bit, to see a familiar face and the situation we have found ourselves in.

Help does not always mean going through their memories.

It's helped you. I'll try to remember that.

I'll make my way across the door as soon as possible. Your presence would be a welcome comfort, if you wish to meet me on the other side, I could contact you before hand.
