Public.
I can't believe it took me this long to go through my graduation presents and find this thing. It so tattered and worn from the outside that I just thought someone was trying to be funny with a prank gift. But no, instead I'm living Harry Potter's life and this is a magical diary with voices and everything.

Just... no one turn out to be Voldemort, please.

Anyway, since this seems to be a good resource to poll the public, I have a few questions for you all:

a) Where's a girl with a good education but zero work experience to go to start looking for work?
b) Any recommendations for cheap places to live that won't also lead to me getting stabbed?
c) Is it normal to hear growling sounds in your head? I'm talking all the time. I can deal with growling from my stomach when I'm hungry, but this is a whole different story.

That's all I have for now. Please stay tuned (if you really have nothing better to do) for the next installment in the life of yet another poor, unemployed, homeless college graduate.

You're a Harry Potter fan too??? That's brilliant. I read every single one and I even got to go to the London premiers after I moved back. It was perfect.

Anywho, I'm unemployed too! Primarily because I left my last job to come here and find my brother. I don't have much experience doing anything other than ballet or singing. Do you have any family you can live with? Or friends? Otherwise, I'd suggest maybe a cheaper hotel until you familiarize yourself with the area?

I don't hear growling, but I guess everyone reactions differently to their voices? Mine only talks when I'm sleeping and it's kind of annoying because all she ever does is fret and worry and work.

Oh, I'm Justine by the way. It's nice to meet you!

Yes! My brother read them to me when I was younger. Nothing as fancy as the premieres for me though.

What was your last job? My brother is in town, but he's shacking up got a crowded living situation. I'm kinda excited about living on my own though, since it's my first time. Hurray responsibility and freedom in equal measures.

Yeah that sounds a little more normal than animal growls. I keep turning around to check if there's a dog about to jump at my throat.

Nice to meet you too, Justine. I'm Logan, but you obviously figured that out.

Mine did too! Is your brother older than you? Mine is, but only by two years. Big brothers are fantastic, but any sort of brother is great. I have three younger siblings too, but they're still in England.

I danced with the Birmingham Royal Ballet. I'm looking for a place to live actually, too. My brother's staying at his girlfriend's apartment and the hotel is getting kind of old. I've got Mike living with me too, which makes it kind of crowded. Do you want to come live with us? It could be fun!

Maybe you have Remus in your head! I don't think it's a full moon though...

Logan's a beautiful name!

He is! He's kind of a lot older, but doesn't like it when I remind him of that.

That's really cool, Justine. It sounds totally glamorous. I'm actually hoping to live alone for a while, since this will be a first for me without pare a roommate, but thanks for the heads up.

I wish it were Remus. I think Remus would be a little nicer than this growly fellow/fellow-ette.

Thanks! My brother named me after his favorite superhero. He was a dork. Still is.

You should always remind him of it then, that way he'll get used to it!!

No worries! Actually, would you maybe consider looking with me at least? It'd be better than looking with Mike. He just grumbles a lot and intimidates people. I'd much rather go looking with someone nicer, and you seem very nice!

Remus would absolutely be nicer. Hopefully whoever it is isn't a bad wolf.

Logan as in Wolverine Logan? He is so cute in those movies! Maybe you have him in your head! Or the sexy one from that HBO show that I have to watch by myself.

He's had 22 years of getting used to it by now.

I can definitely do that. It will probably help me get acquainted with the city faster too. I can't promise nice, but I can definitely promise that I'm not a serial killer. Growlyface's leanings are yet to be determined though.

Okay, that just received a double growl. Note to self: don't call growlypoo bad. And here I was half hoping for all the Doctor Who references.

Umm yes, I guess he is. I feel like I'd recognize Logan though, you know? You would think one would recognize their own namesake. Unfortunately I haven't seen the HBO show. We didn't get premium cable where I grew up.

Big brothers are stubborn sometimes.

Not being a serial killer is a good sign. I'll even treat you to lunch after as a thank you! Well, if we get along well. And if you want.

Yea, I could see that. That's okay. I'm sure whoever you have is nice. You aren't really missing much. I really just watch it for the people.

Yes, but they usually make up for it by spoiling you. At least mine does.

I'm going to go ahead and say I want. I'd be the shame of college students everywhere if I turned down a free meal.

I hope so. Is the storytelling that bad or are the people that pretty?

He used to, before he got his voice and ran away. Benji practically raised me.

Awesome! Here's my number [cell #]

It's a mix of both of them. The story started out interesting enough, but now it's got his moments.

Here's my cell phone number. [Vegas Area Code #]. I'm excited! When are you free?

Business Management and Drawing. Minor in Psychology. I'm just all over the place like that.

Business management leaves you open to a number of options. If you're a recent graduate, you should be able to find an internship in at least a semiprofessional field. Not very glorious, but with a lot of potential for promotion.

Yeah, looks like that's what I'll have to do. I'm trying to find something that'll pay me a living wage a bit sooner, but that might be hoping for too much. This may sound terrible, but do you know of anyone looking for interns of that sort?

Not personally, but I run a company based on finding exactly that. I'd be happy to help you find what you're looking for. Have you written up a resume before?

Only the one for my college application. I don't have anything except school to put on there because I was taking full loads during the summers. Will that be a problem?

Not with a recent graduation. I'd recommend filling the empty previous employment spaces with elaborations on your classes - interesting ones, your biggest areas of focus. Particularly on the business management side, but a note of psychology can make you stand out.

Wow, guidance counselors are completely useless compared to you. Thanks to you my ratty journal is officially worth its weight in gold. Now I just have to keep from writing a tome about what all I loved about my classes.

I'm sure they have a lot of work on their plate at the end of every semester.

If you have any volunteer work, any extracirriculars, add those on. Emphasize the parts about the classes or the projects you did that you think will be the most relevant to a business setting. Though in Vegas, some places are a little more prone to [ ... ] quirkiness than another city would be.

Did not know you were part of Passages. Though, haven't really told you either. Hard to explain strange voices in my head without sounding like I need a doctor.

Really hoping you have Wolverine. Not Jean though. Stay away from Jean.

A part of what? All I know is magical Tom Riddle diary with possible dissociative identity disorder, if magical inanimate books can have that. And there's nothing wrong with voices in your head. Look at w many awesome characters had those.

No more secrets though. That rule still applies.

Like I was telling Justine, I feel like I would recognize Wolverine. Now you tell me to stay away from Jean? Should have thought about that whole Dark Phoenix mess when you named me, bro!

PS - Is it weird if I call you bro? It's so much shorter to write out than brother, but I worry I don't have enough streed cred to pull it off. Heh. Cred.

Until recently I was infected with the mind of Hank Pym. Not exactly Harry Potter levels of awesome.

No secrets. Can't be mad about this particular omission, however.

Logan and Jean most natural pairing. Did not think of the possibly permanent repercussions of the Dark Phoenix. [...] Besides, I think you would know if it was her, too.

Bro is fine. Not broseph, however.

Oh. Is it wrong that my first response was yuck? At least he's gone now. Who do you have now? Someone exponentially more awesome I hope. You'd make a great Kara.

No, I can't. You will have to make it up to me by introducing me to your special friend though. Don't ask me about the logic behind that request. Just go with it.

They are, even though shipping Wolverine with anyone is kinda hopeless. Yeah, you're right. I think she'd be a hell of a lot more vocal about the experience. Among other things.

Please, Adam. I do have some standards. Not many, but some.

Power Girl? Or Super Girl? I wish I was given someone that agreeable. No. Flash Thompson, bully extraordinaire. Possible future Venom Don't think you'll want to meet Flash, but I'll let him know.

Whoever it is, you can handle them. Let's just hope for both our sakes it's not Scott Summers.

Speaking of standards. Said you were homeless? Staying with your big brother out of the question?
