You know, by the way they reacted, you'd think that law students were squeamish or something. You come on a field trip to the medical examiner's office and really expect not to see some dead people? It was just a human heart, anyway, lighten up.

They were probably expecting brains. What pussies.

That came later on, so I can't be faulted for disappointing expectations.

Oh, you can always be faulted. Believe me. I think I've been faulted once, it happens when you least expect it too. And completely undeserved half the time. So yeah, you have been faulted.

All that's left for me to do is sit in the corner and weep uncontrollably, cradling the heart in my arms. What's a boy to do?

Now real quick, can we clarify something? When you say "that came later on" do you mean brains or pussies? Because I'm not sure which is more fucked up or sufficient in court proceedings.

The brain. Even I think that would be a little disrespectful to the corpse. Thankfully, corpse genitalia photography isn't generally necessary in court.

That is very reassuring. I can die happy now. [...] Or not. Maybe I should put my dick on Twitter before time runs out.

I would suggest sending it to a Republican senator, if you really want to make your mark.

Cliche. You'd be surprised by the marks I've made.

Oh, the doubt. It cleaves through me. Although you said you're not squeamish in your post, so you're probably right. Fair enough.

I know, right? Like how are you going to bitch out and not show them the rest? How is the heart ever going to be useful in a court of law? Let's see some livers, some gunshot wounds, some car crashes. Way to half ass the system, Las Vegas Medical Examiner's Office.

Last I knew, hearts belonged inside the body, not out. Perhaps that's what got them.

When you're living, yes. Oxygenating the blood is important for people who aren't dead. But for corpses, anything goes. Plus, if you go to a morgue, I feel like such things should be relatively expected. Does no one watch CSI anymore? Which isn't to say that you should.

You couldn't be more welcome. Since you're not just screaming or keysmashing I'm going to assume you weren't that girl who had to be escorted outside to call her mother.

Uh no. That was not me. I was the brunette glaring at the rest of them for being so damn disruptive. I wish the trip had been a voluntary one. It would've been so much more enjoyable.

I didn't realize they forced you to go. No one should be forced into a morgue. That's the plot of a horror movie.

It was 'strongly recommended' by our professor so just about everyone went.

Your professor is after my own heart, it seems. But he can't have it for a paperweight until I, too, am dead.

Well, I can't think of a good reason not to, if you're that curious. Be sure your strong stomach is still intact, though. I don't play nice just for visitors.

It only make sense to see what you are studying. I wanted to learn English, so I came to America to study. They want to study crime scene, it is important to be ready for any thing that they will see.

I'm Song Mingmei. My name here is Mingmei. I'm studying business though am only a first year student. Not sure where I want my studies to go.

Well, they're law students, so they won't be at the crime scenes so much. It was more to give them perspective on other aspects of law enforcement and the justice system, but I see what you mean.

I didn't either when I first arrived at college. You'll find your niche.
