I can't blame you there, I tend to think if my significant other is cheating I ought to just find out for myself. Unfortunately I think I would just be in the private detective trade for the jaunty hats and trenchcoats. I'm a fan.
My parents died when I was barely 21, and I had no other family to speak of so I relied very heavily on "friends." But being who I am those were hard to come by, most everyone was just looking for a slice of the pie and an invitation to the party. I only had one for a very long time, and once you rely on one person only for too long it's bound to go south. And when it did Nell's father was there to help me out again, and Nell brought a little something extra and gave me something other than my booze to look out for.
That is a very round about way of answering your questions. Yes her father is still involved, we've all been living in Georgia for the last five years. I got a bit ill and he dragged the both of us kicking and screaming to the land of sweet tea and peaches to recuperate. He's a bastard, completely rough around the edges, but a good guy nonetheless. He has turned out to be a valuable friend despite his constant jokes about the above mentioned jaunty hats and trenchcoats. I'd call him my brother if I wanted to be seen with him in public (I kid...Mostly).
Nell moved out here, and as is typical of him, he decided I ought to come out and keep an eye on her. I was glad to do it, I got a bit lazy down in the south so it's nice to be back working again and out in the real world, well as real as sin city can be. With the added stress of alters and doors. But it's a nice change of pace.
