Below is the list of questions we will be utilizing to determine baseline behaviors for our study. I have narrowed them down to three questions, which will will use to evaluate character and personality changes occurring before and after crossing through our respective doors. At this time, no information shall be requested or provided regarding character type behind the door, as this information will be used to measure the effect of dangerous/harmless personalities through the doors.

1. In what situations is violence appropriate, and what level of violence is appropriate in these situations? Is legal violence, such as the death penalty, vengeance or justice?

2. Is there any way to define terms such as "evil" or "good" that do not depend on a divine being as the source of that standard? Can 'evil' or 'corruption' be defined in a way that would would be meaningful in a logical or theological way without using God as a premise?

3. What ethical grounds are there for requiring consent? Which factors make it appropriate to question the validity of consent? When can a refusal be disregarded?

1. It is not possible to write a rulebook with enough gradations, exceptions and subsets to define appropriate violence. Violence may sometimes be necessary, but is never just. Of course, I recognize that you have brought this question to me on a more philosophical scale than a legal one. As a woman somewhat familiar with law enforcement, you would no doubt have a grasp on what is acceptable in a court of law.

I am not a man of violence. It could be argued that as humans we are animals and therefore hardwired to breed, and fight, and survive at all costs. However, if violence was genetic, any discussion of how to avoid it would be restricted to the biological question of whether or not we could rewire ourselves to avoid it.

I am a vegetarian. I would not take a life or propagate a cultural system in our civilization that legally condones violence. I don't support the death penalty, I don't watch MMA fighting.

There is an Indian tribe - the Ute, I believe - who had a doctrine that a member who killed another(even in self-defense) was expected to commit suicide afterwards. The ritual purifications of many primitive tribes returning from war suggest that the human being who performs violence(even appropriate violence) may in doing so have given up some vital part of his own humanity.

Of course, there are many derivative fields of violence, and it could be argued by some that I engage in self-directed violence in the way I

2. Perhaps the term evil brings to mind theological definitions, but here we you are constructing a basis for one's individual moral code. Black and white versus shades of gray. Is something strictly right or wrong? Or can there be contributing factors that allow for crime?

3. Consent in what regard?

You answered the first question with sufficient detail. The second and third question you answered as a lawyer. No, pardon, as a clerical worker in a legal firm who has studied law and is no longer practicing. Please answer the second question. As for the third, that is part of the question, your personal determination of what type of consent is being asked after.

[Frustration leads to a joint, and it's some time before he replies with notably shortened answers.]

2. I operate in shades of gray morally. I'm an Atheist, but I have seen evil, and I have seen good.

3. Consent is always required unless the person in question is not of sound mind.

2. So you are stating, for the record, that you believe in good and evil. But you do not know how those beliefs are defined, or where you draw the line between them? How do you know if you're in one of your moral shades of gray if you cannot define good and evil and their boundaries?

3. So the only time consent can be questioned is if the person consenting is not of sound mind? What if their impairment does not clearly indicate they can/cannot consent? What if they are under the age of reason? What age is required for consent? What if it is consent regarding a judicial action, like imprisonment or the death penalty, where consent is removed by the legal system?

[...] I can't do this, Dahlia. You need to find another candidate.
