Re: steph/eddie
[On her way driving back home after doing a bit of work study at the library. A voice message sent to his phone. There's the gentle rush of her car moving in the background.]
Start you motherfu-- [A wary laugh.] Okay, baby. Remind me that this tablet phone's voice recognition stuff leaves a loootttt to be desired. [A smirk.] I'm driving home right now after spending two hours organizing books by the Decibel System. Two things: I'm really glad we staying in tonight, and are you expecting me to dress up, too?
[She pauses for a second as she takes a turn, trying to remember the rest of his message.] I almost, almost checked out a copy of What's Happening to My Body: Book for Girls as a joke, but Cass wouldn't get it, or would be really offended. Maybe both. [A thinking noise.] Maaaybe Kara and Cass should teach each other. [Fingers drumming against the steering wheel.] Man, I feel like half the people in this city aren't getting and/or have never gotten any before. Thanks for not putting me in their ranks, baby.
[There's an eyeroll in her voice. A liittttle tetchy.] And just because I've got a cult following doesn't mean anything. It's not my fault there were two Batgirls before me, three Robins before me, but there were no other Riddlers.
[But, she softens again.] Do you still have that list? Does it keep growing? [Another, more worried thoughtful sound.] One last thing -- and if you don't promise to do this, I'm canceling tonight -- but if you have freaky weird alien dreams tonight, or whatever, you wake me up, okay? [End.]
