marina & oliver - fireworks
Oliver was never really sure how to act on Memorial Day. It had been a very long time since he had served and the reason for that was not always something he could explain to people he didn’t know. Still, it was nice to participate in the day. He had lost many friends during his military career and remembering them was very important to him.
It was the perfect day for it too. The weather was perfect, the food had been delicious and spending the day with his girls was the icing on the cake. Her question snapped him out of his thoughts. He shifted the large bear he had won for her at one of the games to his other arm and smiled at her.
“We can stay,” he assured her. Fireworks were sometimes hard for him to handle. From his time with the hunters that had killed his mother to the war, they could inspire a plethora of flashbacks. These ones would be okay. He knew they were coming and he could prepare himself. “Fireworks would be nice.”
