divierto, do you ever deal with friends/lovers/acquaintances who whenever you have a conversation with them, you feel like you're the only one actually asking the questions? like you're the one always asking things like "how are you?" "how was your day?" "what did you do today? "how did _______ go?", things like that, and they never seem to ask about you? is this something that, if it was happening to you, would bother you a lot or would you not really care? would you think of this as a lack of caring or simply a lack of conversation skills? and most importantly, how would you get that person to change?

have you guys ever tried language learning software like rosetta stone? if so, what was your experience like? would you recommend it?
also, how many of you know more than one language? which ones do you speak? personally i understand & speak spanish pretty well but i'd like to become fluent. and i want to teach myself french or italian.

Blah it's five in the morning and I'm freaking out over here, so div to the rescue?
I just woke up like ten minutes ago, my ear felt itchy so I reach up to scratch it and find that my hand is wet. I figure this can't be good, so I go to the bathroom and sure enough, it's covered in blood. Don't worry though, I'm not bleeding out of my ears, just my new cartilage piercing that I got four days ago.
Now... i don't know if I hit it or something while I was asleep but I'm assuming if I had I would have felt it and woken up. Although, I wake up many times a night for unknown reasons so maybe I did. My question to you is, have you ever had a fairly new piercing just bleed profusely for no reason? I'm assuming that if it does, it's probably a bad sign. I just can't for the life of me figure out why it did this. For now I'm just letting it clot and I suppose I'll call my piercer tomorrow... Because other than it being sore like normal, I haven't had any other problems with it and it's looked healthy. I just don't wanna take it out :[

I tend to just lurk around here, but I'm kind of curious, so here it goes.
If it were -26 celcius out, which for you non-Canadian folk is 14.8 fahrenheit, would you bother doing a 20 minute walk to school, when you'd have to walk back home and make a few more trips outside? Or would you just stay home and go outside only if you had to? I really don't want to freeze.
And so this isn't too pointless, show me a picture of your boyfriend/crush/best friend/pet/anything!

my friend wanted to hang out last night and i blew her off bc i was sick and worked early this morning. so i get this message this morning about how much fun she had hanging out with my other friend and seeing the movie defiance. i have the tv on at work and defiance doesn't come out until friday, and my other friend has been out of town for about a week. what the hell.

This movie I've been waiting patiently to come out on DVD is coming out soon and the double disc DVD has a lot of bonus features, which is what I enjoy watching most but the Blu-Ray disc has a little more features that are not on the regular DVDs. Can someone tell me the point of Blu-Ray DVDs? Why can't they just add the extras to the regular DVD?
I know they've been around for a while but I feel like I know nothing on blu-rays. :\

i was supposed to go to transfer orientation today at 10:30AM but it's snowing here, and my mom tried to leave the driveway and got out, but decided that because it would take her 2+ hours to get to work b/c of the snow she came back home. when she pulled back up the driveway she got half up my driveway when her car got stuck. i got stuck in the driveway and my mom told me i was forbidden to go. this orientation is mandatory and i called campus police like an hour ago and they said it wasn't cancelled, and i checked the website a minute ago and it doesn't say anything is cancelled. it's still snowing and my mom isn't moving and i can't go. i called the office and told them my situation and left a message but i haven't heard back yet. i hope they still let me register for classes :( my mom told me to stop worrying about it that there is nothing that i can do but it's like, if it were you you'd be worrying too! she thinks it's not a big deal and that she can get away with anything and i feel like now im not going to college this semester because of the g'damn snow :(
advice / cheer me up with cat pictures etc?

Today is a good day for entertainment news, at least for me. Apparently Chevy Chase is doing three episodes of Chuck too, so I'm kind of flipping out about that. Because seriously fucking Chevy Chase!!! He's a HUGE name.

for those of you who don't live with their parents anymore - if you were going to get an apartment by yourself, would you rather have a studio or a one-bedroom apartment?
(for those of you who are unaware of the difference - basically, in a studio apartment, your living room and your bedroom are the same room as opposed to a one-bedroom apartment where they are two separate rooms.)

I know I just posted but, I went tanning (which my white stupid ass should never do. I know better) But I got SUPER SUPER burnt, and it WONT STOP ITCHING. What are some good things to do for sunburns besides Aloe and Oatmeal baths? I don't have a tub to take an oatmeal bath in, I only have a stand up shower, and I would rather be itchy than sticky. I hate aloe :(

as a freshman girl going far to a big university, i like my sleep and alone time. is it wise to get a larger single room far from the party side of the campus, much nicer, and with older girls or a single room in the heart of most things?
